just stay in and bat and bat and bat. If it's looking plausible for a madcap evening session on fireworks by all means but getting there with plenty of wickets in hand is more important.

and we're not the whiteball force we were once

Mundane stat of the match, not only is this the highest opening partnership of the game, it's more than the first 3 wickets put on in any innings

I think this season shows that the two go hand in hand.

This season we simply haven't had enough players so that when one is away on England duty the team isn't good enough. The team at least has to be competitive and give the supporters a few wins every now and again.
 
16 overs gone. Minimum overs remaining today 68. new ball due in 64 overs.

323 runs to win. To get them before the new ball is taken we need to score at almost exactly 5 an over.

Just saying.

If it wan't this it might have been worse with no one available. But haway man North and Franklin you cannot run the team on the basis of just about having enough, this squad was far too thin from the start.
