Women’s Euros 2022

Imagine how good the women’s game would have been if men hadn’t made it illegal for 50 years.
Wouldn't be any better, remember Brazil trained on beaches and nothingness and were by far the best team for 20 year. The only reason the womens game was popular is because blokes turned up to watch women. I can give you evidence of this with the contempary soundtrack of the day and you can draw your own conclusions.

Should be a straight ban and thread delete IMO
I do agree to an extent but it's handy for outing the unknown wankers though, and hopefully kept the shit talk out of the match thread, which I stayed off as I was watching the game on iPlayer and that stream runs a minute or two behind so you read what's happening before you see it.

It is being rammed down our throats because media outlets, see it as a potential lucrative income stream in the future and are trying to build it now.

Not a fan of womens football personally but not offended by it either. It's no different from a company ramming a product down our throats when they see they are potentially onto a winner.

All part of the new agenda, SKY too. I just ignore it.

Next up F1 ladies? More womens RUgby? haha
And when did this agenda get accelarated,🤔 Was it ten years back, 5 years back, 3 years back or was it... 3 weeks to... 🤔

That's an utterly depressing post mate.

Womens football only matters if men turn up to watch?

I will indeed 'draw my own conclusions' and I suspect most others will as well and it does not put you in a good light.:(

It's true and it is depressing. You will see women's attendances rapidly drop from the 20s to the 70s.

I'm not suggesting that women club footballers get paid the same as their male counterparts, I was asking you who was campaigning for it.

As we live in a capitalist society, it stands to reason that men are going to get paid more as their game generates far, far more money.
I told you at 10.15pm let market forces decide and now you are agreeing with me. But you chose to be sarcastic….how magnanimous of you !!

I am glad you agree. I find most of your posts depressing and regressive.

See you deleted the really inflammatory bit and as for 20's to the 70's that was when the FA banned womens football and society never exactly tret women well.

I agree. Nor trying to be chauvinistic but it's shite. Goalkeepers are shite. Players tripping over the ball. Am all for women's football but its a different game. Don't have ex.male players on as its a different game.
About 15 years ago, I umpired an interuniversiry women's cricket match, and possibly spent as much time coaching as umpiring. A few years later, I umpired a girl's U15 match, and the standard wasn't that short of the boys. The women can't hit the ball as far as Jos Buttler or bowl as fast as Jofra Archer, but their skill is undoubted.

The standard of women's football is on an upward curve. They won't match the physicality or pace of the men, but they can develop the technical skills. They're two sides of the same coin.

If men feel threatened by that, it says more about them than the women.

I feel sorry for all the haters on here who missed out on something extraordinary tonight. It’s going to take a while to process that England performance. All I know right now is that it was unexpected, it was superb, and if you love football you’d have had one of those rare nights where football truly uplifts you.
