Not a problem with BBC coverage for a major tournament as it does generate interest and I hope it continues. What does get me are the ‘equal pay’ brigade, as it’s not a sport that generates entertainment week in week out. Why do millions of people watch Tom Cruise… because he is A list, why do people not watch the Thornley and District Drama Club, because it’s garbage. Happy for the women to have their own Sky Sports subscription channel to dictate their salaries.
How incredibly magnanimous of you.

Norway were one of the pre tournament favourites and have the best strike front three in the world.

England were about 4/6 to win which does not scream 5 goals. Maybe you should look at the betting sites as you would have made a fortune. I won just under £120 on that game tonight by the way;)
I only watch bits and bobs but it's quite clear these England lasses are light years better. Get your money on it man.

There is no “equal pay brigade” except where specific circumstances justify it - the US national teams, the odd non league side such as Lewes FC where the women compete at a higher level than the men. Complete straw man argument

I think the OP has probably got what he wanted from his OP.

Pretty sad really like.

FWIW Im delighted it’s getting the coverage it is. My daughter is mad keen on football and she’s been watching it with me and enjoyed it. Such a shame that so many outdated views still exist from misogynistic dinosaurs screaming ‘woke’. Bless them.

The hated bbc is going to be showing champions league football in a couple of seasons

will that get an obsession thread?

I’m not against lasses football but I get irritated that the BBC seem obsessed to overdo the equality bias with having more women presenters and pundits than men in all forms of the game including men’s football
It’s the same in the BBC for all sports these days
There’s a limit that I can take on ramblings of Clare Balding Gabby Logan and Alex Scott

Because a male under 21s team from an average non league Saturday football side would beat the best womens team in the world through sheer power, aerial ability, physicality etc
Man City reserves would probably beat our first team. What's your point?

I don't understand why people need to compare men's and women's football? We all know it's not on the same level as the men's game.

Imagine if a Liverpool fan came on here saying League One football is shite. Why are Sky ramming lower league football? Ross Stewart wouldn't get into our U23s. Our U19s would beat any lower team. We'd be outraged. We have lads on here crying if a pundit picks a team to beat us!

It's plain sexism.

Pundits don’t matter to me personally. I tune into the event. I don’t really understand the hatred of Kevin pietersen on the cricket either

It couldn’t just be that they were the best candidates for the job? Why does it have to be a box ticking exercise?
