They should one rule for all Bury didn't get this much time.

Bury were allowed to get to the start of the season. Even to the point of postponing games (EFL Cup & League 1).
If I remember correctly the season was 4 games old when the EFL eventually called time.

Edit just checked and it was 6 games called off. Final decision taken on 27th August. 2 months later than 25th June.

I think the Bury ground was bought by one group but another group had started a new club. Last I'd read a few months back they were in talks to let the new club use the ground.

Hopefully this latest bloke goes through all the tests and gets them sorted. With hardly any players and no manager obviously its going to be a mammoth task to assemble a squad to compete (we know what a bastard League One can be) and then theres any potential future points deductions...

They may well have to follow the Bolton/Pompey route and accept a drop again before they settle and rebuild, but if you ask the fans I'm sure they'd all say they'd rather that than no club at all!

Well, I did say that in my post it won't guarantee clubs aren't stupid, but it should diminish the financial incentive to get promoted and the reckless spending we see to do that but also remove the uncompetitive advantage relegated clubs get from the parachutes

Regulating how much Agents can take out of deals might be a start. Make it so in England and Wales they have to be paid a set sum or percentage direct from the buying club and they cannot accept payments from their players or other intermediaries. The agents accounts audited by the oversight body every year, anything dodgy and UK licence is revoked.

I was thinking about parachute payments. You either get situations like ours and Burnley's where they're accounted for before they've even been banked. Just something else to borrow against.

Or you get the likes of Fulham, Watford and Norwich who are up and down so much they must have the money of a PL club even when they're not.

Given the parachute payments you effectively have a league within a league.

We need a much more level playing field across the championship and premier league where success is not guaranteed by money alone.

In the past it was great to see clubs like Derby and Notts Forest take on the big boys by good management (why or why was Cloughy not appointed at SAFC?!!!!). Appreciate it is difficult with that much money in the game but we need to move back to them days. Without that you are killing the sport.

The chances of the PFA agreeing to mandatory pay cuts in player contracts are literally 0%.

It’s not the PL clubs fault Derby can’t manage their finances. It was happy days when they had Lampard, Mount, Timori, Wilson and paying Arsenal £10m+ for a defender a few seasons ago.

Agents should be paid by players, and only players. Publishers, theatres, orchestras and choirs, etc, don't pay agents. Why should football be any different?

while i certainly agree with your point....threatres probably do pay casting directors..ie people whose role it is to identify talent in a specific role..agents get paid by clubs to do that..the pissue is if they are being paiud by the club for that bit, and the player as well

If you're going to pursue that analogy, the casting director is more like a head of recruitment, ie Stewart Harvey.
