Not surprised they ran out, they are laying them on their thin side. Don’t know owt about paving public highways but surely you lay them on the flat to use the bigger surface area?I spoke to someone with one of the outside units (who’d had the council officer in) and they said they contractor had run out of paving bricks and they are imported from the Netherlands or some shite and they’re on back order.
It looks nice on the side but must’ve quadrupled the number of bricks required. Not surprised they ran out, they are laying them on their thin side. Don’t know owt about paving public highways but surely you lay them on the flat to use the bigger surface area?
It’s reasonable. £5 a pint and food for way less than a tenner.I like the stack, I like the vibe, I do not like the prices
Aye depending on the brick, some a little quicker but some even longer.@legend7 was telling me there’s a 28 week lead time for bricks currently.
And the labour. It looks nice on the side but must’ve quadrupled the number of bricks required.
Rumour going about that Esh are struggling. You heard owt?Aye depending on the brick, some a little quicker but some even longer.
Currently sorting 1.5 million for a job and they are 28 weeks from Ibstock.

Netherlands will be Hardscape probably, bloody expensive too, just as nice ones made over here by others.I spoke to someone with one of the outside units (who’d had the council officer in) and they said they contractor had run out of paving bricks and they are imported from the Netherlands or some shite and they’re on back order.
Nah nowt really, think they sold off Deerness fencing but could be wrong.Rumour going about that Esh are struggling. You heard owt?
Bout 170 houses.1.5 m!
Jeez I know nowt about bricks but that seems an awful lot. Does someone have to count them all to make sure you got what you ordered?
Its the style of paving, seen it on a few jobs now. They aren't on their side thats how they are supposed to be laid, the reason they look like they are is that they are heavy duty blocks for heavy traffic areas.@Gillythedilf what you reckon about laying bricks on their side?Seems a bit crackers when there's a shortage of supplies
Looks canny che@Gillythedilf what you reckon about laying bricks on their side?Seems a bit crackers when there's a shortage of supplies
Me mar says its just a glorified working mens club as they have bingo/karaoke/turns on she's in her 70s like so probably not their target audiencePleased it's been a success but Crowd Kareoke sounds and looks absolutely lifting like.
It’s a footpath on the quieter of the 2 paths, the seafront obviously being the busier of the two.Its the style of paving, seen it on a few jobs now. Yeah ive seen it.It’s a footpath on the quieter of the 2 paths, the seafront obviously being the busier of the two.
It will be aesthetics more than anything, not so much on side but to look narrow.@Gillythedilf what you reckon about laying bricks on their side?Seems a bit crackers when there's a shortage of supplies
As i said earlier they are heavy duty blocks. Hence the depth of them.It will be aesthetics more than anything, not so much on side but to look narrow.
You can get heavy normal shape though, 80mm rectangular will take bin wagons, use in airports etc.As i said earlier they are heavy duty blocks. Hence the depth of them.
Seen them like that on other jobs too, and it is for strength. If the said blocks were laid on their side they wouldn't take the stresses. You can get heavy normal shape though, 80mm rectangular will take bin wagons, use in airports etc.
From what people are saying these look like normal blocks on edge so quite a long slim profile, unless I've read it wrong?
