Nissan

Well I suggest they keep voting NO until a better deal appears...

Agreed but Because thats what they put on the slides for other local employers...
So then only started doing this now after 25 yrs of nee been there ? It’s like comparing a pilots wages to a welder or summit
It’s not about other car manufacture. It’s about what your catchment area for recruitment is in the area and what they pay.

They won’t pay London wages when you are recruiting from Sunderland. Unless they need a specific skill set
Why? do they charge more for a car down london ??

Gibson nearly shut the place aswell if it wasn't for the Renault parachute. My name is Rodney but you can call me Dave. I think this deal was fair especially with the amount of cars we have built and what deals are being done at the moment. This deal helps people as its a pay rise but the company are not going to give a rise to cover petrol and gas and electric rises .
I broadly agree with most of your points Rodders...

While Gibson nearly shut the place, we were still doing over 100 cars per man, the most productive Plant in Europe at the time and top10 in the world...

This was because we were all working like idiots killing ourselves day after day, while management kept making the mistakes...

Thankfully King Carlos came in and turned it all around (notice how its gone to sh*te since he was sacked...???)

Agree about how can we still have 6000 staff and build just 200,000 cars, people stood about all over the place , we only had 1 line the last time we did this few cars...

Its beyond me why the further 2 years of RECAP that was planned was not done when they already had the money off Japan for a 4 year program...

This would have got the CPU down a good bit, as there are still loads on £50K plus just hanging on feathering their nests, still costing them a fortune...

Ultimately the deal offered was not terrible, but the lump sum is needed a lot earlier than July 23 IMHO...

Its possible we might go for £1000 at Christmas 22, £2500 on the basic and another £500 in April 23, but it needs to be better if they do indeed want a YES vote...

If they do force it in I suggest they don't ever do any surveys again - it might not go very well, results wise...!!!

Will be interesting to see what starting salary Envision over the road from the plant are offering when they open shortly...???

Anyway lets see what inflation is in October...

King Carlos did indeed turn us round however he was also the cause of our downfall. The last 3 years in control he became a megalomaniac and he drove us into the ground. His vision of biggest alliance in the world was his obsession, Good riddance to him!
Also £1000 at Christmas
£500 in April
£2500 consolidated
😂Aren’t you a bit old for Christmas wish lists mate😂
It has to be a yes vote for any changes to terms and conditions though
Does anybody realise that if you are not in the union you have no legal recourse to challenge company on pay deal. If you vote no they can say ok you not getting rise then, thanks.
Or they can just implement it…. What you gonna do, give it back

Heard a rumour the current recruitment process is only for employment of 1/2 months. Anyone know if that’s true? Don’t wanna leave a secure job for just that thanks

Never heard that, they wouldn’t bother recruiting if only that long. Linesoeeds going up so need more people. Plus they never finished temps for years mate. Just made 200 permanent. Do well in texts you get a perm job if you not do good you get temp contract. Good luck mate

All the contracts have been that for ages rolling contracts

Is that right that the build is dropping right down?

We were told at a supplier last week that it is. we are going to being running 20 seconds an index slower. We were expecting it to happen yesterday but our build was only slightly lower. Much better them slowing down that more stand downs like.
Terms and conditions were clear as day

Were there any new terms and conditions on there what were better or worse than what you already have.

Not giving Carlos the 2 houses and extra millions to keep him was Nissans biggest mistake...

If he was still here we would have the X=trail going down the line, and the Juke and Qashqai would both have 8 different powertrain options, including FULL electric available NOW...

The only mistake he made was to want to give Renault more power, which led to the Japs paying a "whistle blower" to get him out as they couldn't stomach that..

Of course the bosses that followed were NO better, and have shown how incompetent they were, compared to the King...,

The next one had to resign for fiddling, and the one after for emissions cheating cover ups...

The current one isn't doing much better either, other than getting lucky on people paying silly prices for a new car, like all other car makers are finding...

Coupled with not having the products people wanted last year, never mind now, like FULL electric Juke and Qashqai, no wonder the share price (and also sales) has gone through the floor...

If we had the right products, the profit could have been MUCH higher...

As for my Christmas wish list, I have no real interest in what they offer as I won't be here that much longer thankfully...

However, I'm surprised at your comments, after all you said you worked for a supplier on low wages, so you should be as keen as anyone to get a decent deal...

If I didn't know better, I would say your comments are actually coming from someone in a managerial position, maybe even upstairs, trying to dampen down the workers expectations...

Of course if its true you did just recently join the company, I understand why you are making them, as you have not been through all the sh*te we have in the last 30 plus years, so have no concept of what we are worth...

Anyway whichever way you look at it, 80% is a HUGE statement, so most people don't think like you, though of course, you are fully entitled to your opinion...

Will be interesting to see how this pans out over the next few months...

Hey lads, I have had an idea. For everything
Shift allowance on top of that?
We getting nowt now. Heard Russian plant closure getting announced soon. That will be a billion pound write off plus loooking at net it’s one of Nissan most profitable markets. Hope all the gaffers who influenced their lads are proud now as I sense a pay freeze. Plus heard my senior twisting that his £6k lump sum never went up so he voted no. As I understand that’s to cover overtime…. He hasn’t done any since Covid hit according to lads. Take it off them!!!!. Plus he is on £100k a year according to my calcs. As the pig said “all animals are equal just some are more equal than others”.😳 If you
listen to my pig blame the reps, the same reps where lad next to me says his rep on call 24/7 n supported lads through deaths n all sorts. The pigs are revolting cos they got less than the line rats because they think they better than us! They Wish!!!

sorry about rant, my pigs being playing up today 😂😂

Sorry mate just seen this. Yes I did work for supplier on shit wage and treatment of which one of our colleagues can confirm. I had a significant rise coming to Nissan and £2k rise on top of that is monumental to me and my soon to be family. Unfortunately a lot of, not all, Nissan workers are in the Nissan bubble and are superheroes. Try being made redundant after 12 years at a supplier like I was and welcome to the real world where you in and out of temp jobs trying to earn a living. The bubble can burst believe me. Hope you move on to bigger and better things.
Also have to say I am flattered you believe I have management capability, I guess that’s cos am not thick …..or is it cos I am…fell offended now😂consider your appraisal upgraded to whatever the highest one is 😂😂.
I also have to agree with you, I believe there may be frauds in our midst. I suggest we arrange a night out and we all turnout with our name badges on and whoever doesn’t show is the fraud
I don’t know who they are. I don’t know any they want. But I have a particular set of skills acquired over a long time. I will look for them. I will find them and I will kill them😒😒😂😂😂
