if we remained in league 1 i'd agree however there is legitimate reason and logic as there is no way they will be able to fund the club in the championship

They don't necessarily have to fund it. A deficit for the club isn't one for them directly.

Given they got the club for a song when it was shelling out cash, they may believe they have a pretty large safety blanket in how far they could fall before breaking even.

surely as shareholders they have to put in ?

I’m honestly not that bothered if they don’t sell unless it’s to the right people. It seems they blagged KLD and he’s spent more than expected so they deserve less. The more offers they turn down the more it looks likely he gets the deal he wants and we get stability and clarity.

Quite right mate, not thinking right there.

Thanks for the message.
It's tempting to hope Donald plays up to type and drops his mate Methven in it. Donald doesn't need him and can sell his own shares independently. Methven would be left, as far as I know, with nothing but an obligation to provide funds.

In some ways I'd rather see that happen than him running off with his pieces of silver.

Not to the best of my understanding, the club is its separate entity. They could load it with debt and feel they could break even as the facilities it owns will probably mean it doesn't sink below what they paid unless they do something rediculous.

They could never afford to run a championship club competitively or otherwise by wiping debt, but there are other ways.

Time for KLD to call their bluff. Tell winnit and cannit that he wants to improve stadia and also playing squad vastly and he needs them to pay their agreed percentage. Watch their arses drop, yes fair play comes in account with players signing on fees and wages but surely not necessary improvements to enhance match day experience.

If I understand it correctly, there is nothing to suggest anything other than an "agreement" in place that they would commit a certain amount last year.

If Kld wanted to put money in, there is nothing to suggest anyone would have to match it or have there position lessened by him doing so. They could probably raise issue with him loaning the club money.
