got 4 tom plants, all in flower with 1 producing fruit already. 4 pepper and chilli plants all flowering except 1, courgettes have been decimated by snails except for 1 which is starting to bud. All outdoors as don’t have a greenhouse, more just to show the bairn stuff growing as opposed to coming off a shelf in a shop.

Not sure looking at that mate. Your Basil looks poorly too. Maybe just too much water. Ground looks very wet.
No sign of insect larvae under the leaves?
That's a mulch of almost-finished compost on top of the soil, about 4" thick. It REALLY holds the moisture into the soil underneath - but it has been raining here since last night, so everywhere is wet at the moment.

And yeah, basil is also a bit yellowed - I was thinking its the recent cold snap that's caused the problems. But looking at images online, it does look more like early blight than anything :(

Just checked for bugs, nothing.

I’m growing some tomatoes again this year. Sowed the seeds end of April and they doesn’t seem to have grown as fast this year compared to last year🍅
I grew them for about 4 years in a row. First year I had boxes of them and ended up making batches of passata to freeze. Second year not many, third and fourth virtually none. Gave up as the time and effort just wasn’t worth it. Judging by this “summer” so far it’s going to be tough to grow tomatoes in the North East!!

So after the bairn got a little set to plant radishes and carrots. They, as expected by myself didnt turn out too good but to be fair to him, he watered them everyday.

So hes asked if he could have some pots outside. Think he was expecting just a couple of plant pots out the garage so gone and bought him 2 massive planters, bags of compost so took him and hes bought himself some lettuce and mint...so he can make his own vinegar salad for sunday dinner 😂 love him to bits

Not sure this time, I know that usually travels up the plant in the autumn though. This looks more like fungus spots - doesn't blight affect the stems too? I'm not seeing that.
Could be wrong though.

View media item 8220Rhs website image mate.
I got it 2 years ago.
Had to ditch the lot.

Still early enough to start with young plants though mate.

All is not lost😁👍
Don't think I have any seeds left from last year, which would be a shame.

My carrots showed some signs of life, then vanished entirely :(
Carrot fly. Kill my little orange fuckers every year.
Found out carrot fly only fly up to about 18" in the air, so got large planter on top of my compost bin this year and they aredoing really well so far. Green tops about a foot tall. Fingers crossed for my first crop in 10 years of trying. 🤞🤞🤞

Had a bit of a glut of cherry toms last year. The plants seem to shoot up. Also growing some sunflowers and they seem to be struggling. Sowed them end of March and going by last year they should be massive now but aren’t

Starts tomorrow from the forecast. At least 5 days of 20C and sun coming.
Have to check out what it is down here. Been warm but very wet.

🤣🤣🤣
You must put a pic of your pup on the dog thread after he has been for a swim mate.

I only took a video mate. He was better today though. Got past his tummy and half over his back. Not like his dad who dives under water to get the biggest rocks. But even he never used to like it apparantly so will have to give it time.

Best to mate. He"ll do it when he's ready.👍

they can all go into water together when sowing you just put them in the ground, doesnt matter how so long as theyre in the ground
After about 2 weeks in the jar of water (which I kept changing) on the windowsill, no signs of anything from the pea seeds.
Picked one up and its soft now

Confused???

Mate.
Get a length of guttering. Fill with compost. Put seeds in. Water every day. When they come through, slide whole thing out into shallow trench in the bed. Start them in greenhouse first, then hsrden off before planting out. Done it for 10 years and works every time.
Never ever soaked them.👍
