Everyone got stitched up, including Donald and Methven. When they appeared at that Wimbledon(?) match, everyone was convinced it was all over bar the shouting. I was in the Hilton later that night with a lad who puts a deal of money into the club in various ways, and Donald came in, more than a bit pissed. I told him not to blow it, and he was sure it would be done and dusted in about a week or so. This was at the time that Reiver (who's a good mate of mine) was getting all these messages too. There was no reason to believe it was all going to fall apart, even though myself and Mrd G have seen enough to know that it's never done until the ink is drying on the signed contract.

What's great about this one is that it isn't life or death, the way that KLD's initial investment was.

I do trust him to bring in like-minded people, and I assume that a) the deal is not going to be difficult and b) that if it fell through, KLD has a plan to take us forward with or without other investors.

Getting rid of SD and CM would be an amazing outcome, and I'd prefer it if it happened as it's in everyone's best interests, but if they end up clinging on, we'll live in spite of them, and that's better than we could say this time 2 years ago.

Look at it from his side - he was getting messages from high net worth people he's previously worked for (he manages estates for high/ultra high net worth owners who move in those circles). He had no reason not to believe them, and was passing stuff on in good faith. He can be touchy; that's just him, and he can be like a dog with a bone sometimes. But at the same time he's helpful and generous to other fans.

A very good summary but over on 606 he was Lord of the Manor rather than gamekeeper despite all the Dell stuff failing. It did seem like he wanted the attention and his mates on there backed up every bit of speculative news without ever seeing any evidence. It was quite weird. Hopefully this takeover rumour thread soon gets back to that rather than a personality contest.
