Offer come in for the club (rumours thread)

There are many potential scenarios at play here. These are just a few:
  1. It could be financiers who don’t want to run the club day to day but retain board members and accept KLD and his team running the club. I say this because that is how the shareholding is currently structured with KLD running the club. The return on investment being the driver.
  2. The club could be restructured through a different holding company.
  3. It could be that mad Billy is the “rep” for the other parties and that they will be active in the club with a move away from the current operating model.
  4. The other party is linked to KLD through LDC - this appears doubtful to me as the CFO of LDC already sits on the board of Sunderland.
  5. The way this has been leaked, it sounds like this is an independent decision of SD and CM and not necessarily with the full agreement of KLD. This could lead to some instability with SD and CM leaving the door open for KLD to make a counter offer, hence the non-exclusive statement.
  6. Could be a completely different group who have long term ambitions to buy out KLD etc
Number 5 is a very plausible scenario here I believe.

Hopefully we release an official statement once exclusivity is reached to try and force Donald / Methven into a position where they cant shift the goalposts.

Twitter suggesting offer was in place before the play off final. Would laugh my cock off if true as the offer would have been well below what it would have been after promotion was confirmed.

I think Storey was sat in the SWC for the Shef match, which would go against him being the representative in the board room.

Probably would have agreed for the purchase price to vary dependent on which league we ended up in. Even SD should have done that, despite his well documented poor negotiation skills..

It was yes, they’re quite adamant about that 😂

They have tbh. Took 4 years longer than it should though and all their money and bringing in people better than them at running a club for it to happen though.

Im not sure its something to boast about given the size of club and budget they had. Its like man city finishing 5th in premiership and directors shouting how great it is!!!
