Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES) - Please put sensitive content behind a spoiler

Looks like Ukraine are struggling to hold the Russians in the South, possibly the beginning of a collapse after weeks of slowing the Russain progress.

russia holds the aces in the South, short supply lines and superiority in troop numbers, Ground now dried out means its easier for tanks to manoeuvre off road. Ukraine has better trained troops, and is receiving more and more kit from the west, meaning the longer the war drags on the better the situation becomes for the Ukrainians. Hopefully sanctions being applied by many countries now will have an increasing effect on the russian economy and thus their ability to maintain the war.
It is difficult to see what russia expects to gain from this invasion, the vast majority of the population will never accept russian occupation, so even if there was an agreed ceasefire the economic and military cost in enforcing it would be tremendous, economic sanctions would continue, and the west will be spending les and less on russian gas and oil.

Definitely looks like Ukraine are coming under sustained pressure for one of the first times since the very start.

They have some issues around Popasna and Sevrodonetsk and sounds like on the South too.

They still outnumber the Russians considerably but have large amounts of forces still well back from the front to counter any attempt on Kyiv, Odessa etc… or anywhere else on the Northern border.

Hopefully they can weather the storm and the West can rush weapons to them with this new 40 billion. Time favours them but they are suffering on some fronts it seems

This article seems fairly balanced for where Russia is with regard to sanctions and its economy etc.

You aren't allowed to say Russia are doing well, Putin apologist!
80+ days into the invasion, orc arses kicked lost the battles of Kyiv and kharkiv. Biggest ship in the Black Sea now under the Black Sea, if you want to cream off over the capture of a few wooden sheds good luck yo you.

Meanwhile in the real world Putin and everything he stands for is now ridiculed. Fatboy and his cronies have stolen billions of dollars from the russian people. Christ his moronic, murdering, raping, looting scum, who he calls his army think they have hit the jackpot when they liberate second hand lingerie and jars of nutella. the arsehole hasn't got the guts to tell his people how shit his army is, and how many thousands of them won't be coming home. Hell he won't even accept the return of the bodies of his own troops, allowing them the decency of a christian funeral, and closure for their families.

Glad you think that murdering thousands, and ruining the lives of millions is funny. But thats a Putin apologist for you!!!!

I don't think it's funny at all. It's tragic, disturbing and traumatic.

However, I responded with that because I strongly feel the most staunch Ukraine supporters have lost touch with reality due to placing too much blind faith in Partisan propaganda.

Now in saying that I do not assume the Russians to be honest or acting in good faith, quite the opposite obviously. But people have been misled over how this war is going and I'm pressed to call it out.

No need to call it out, or point out propaganda on the Ukraine side or look for any instances of Ukranian foul play because:

UKRAINE DIDN'T START THE WAR!

But if you ask me what I really think of modern Russia. It's a very depressing country which is living off the memory of its former achievements, it does not have a lot going for it, it's riddled with crime, corruption.

A reason why people perceive Russia has done so poorly in this conflict is because their expectation of the Russian army is blinkered by a historical myth based upon the military legacy of the USSR.

They still think Russia is still the juggernaut which destroyed the Nazis, when in reality it is in many ways a shadow of its former self.

That is the point. I don't think have been that misled. Kiev was shown extensively. Everyone expected street fighting in Kiev with the Russians getting into City Centre. That did not happen. Odessa was supposed to be vulnerable. Nothing.

Russians took Kharkiv. They are no longer there. Towns and villages flattened by Russian firepower has been shown.

They have thrown everything into the Donbas but much of that territory was already disputed.

They are strong there but don't seem to be getting far.

Where is the Partisan propaganda?

I do not condone such a brutal conflict which is the biggest in Europe since World War II and has destroyed millions of lives.

But I do strive to be honest about the facts.
How are you more qualified than anyone else on here to decide what's facts or fiction then? You're presenting stories that suit your agenda and you're dismissive of those that don't. That's opinion, not fact.
