Cycling Thread 2022

Can’t see another one.

British National CX Champs was on today. North east lad won the mens event by the sounds of his accent.

Wout Van Aert took the Belgian title (unsurpringly).

Not long till the first road races of the year get underway again either.

Aye I have. Should’ve guessed really.
yep...desperate he/she is to start threads

quite a few of the early season races cancelled due to finances/covid

Got out for my first outdoor ride today. Got some cheap winter kit from FDX which kept me warm, didn’t have any winter footwear though. Had a bit of frostnip when I got home.

60k from CLS-Flint Hill-Chopwell-Prudhoe-Newcastle-Low Fell-Birtley-Home.

On the gravel bike, bit sloppy in places but it was nice to be back outside and not in the garage.

Alright lads, I’ve bought a decent mountain bike and I’ve bought waterproofs and a go pro. Where’s the best terrain in the north east for mountain biking?

Out today and the weather was lush. Sadly these horrible fly things were everywhere. At one point I took off my glasses to get one away from my eye, when two more hit my face, and another appeared on a lense by the time I put them back on.

Had a bike fit from giant on Friday. Going to give it another ride or two but not convinced so far that my position is right. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Do we have many SMB zwifters?
Would never race but use it a lot, particularly in the winter.
Used a non smart turbo for years but the wahoo kickr and Zwift is great.

The “ cheating“ is constant mind, and If not in races pointless…passed the other day on a climb and as quiet course noticed the rider knocking out 19.5 w/k for a long long time

Nearly always from Malaysia, Philippines etc

Never bothered with racing on it.....group rides are canny as are the new pace partner bots....CAT C is set at 2.6wkg so in the group your only really putting 2.3 down.....jumped on the CAT B bot running at 3.2 a while back and lasted about 10k....completely fucked me.

65 miles the day up to Bellingham. Hot as owt and decent headwind on the way out. Survived it but don't seem to be getting any fitter. Little worried about the black sheep brewery ride up buttertubs next month.

Used to be well into it. As has been covered, the cheating is unreal. People doing 1000w sprints when their FTP is meant to be 170. Group rides are canny though.
