Craft Beer

Great to meet craft beer royalty last night, @Ambivalent Squirrel. I never thought I'd meet anyone who introduced themselves as the Squirrel but here we are.

Have a cracking day at BrewLDN. Wild Card are releasing their first beer from their barrel ageing project at the event today, a Cuvee Saison, might be one to sample!
 Using an online random user name generator when my old account got binned back in 2013 was not one on my better choices. Couple of times I’ve seen people and not bothered saying hello, cos I’d feel like a right prick introducing myself.:lol::lol:

Cracking crowd in that boozer last night, really enjoyed it. Fingers crossed for Monday.

Looking forward to brew.LDN, will have to keep an eye out for that wild card. Did see a whole posse of lads with wild card T-shirts on at Borough market yesterday, so they have either a ton of groupies (cough) or staff here in force.
Hit the motherlode at Brew.LDN here.

Brand new Barrel aged saison from Wildcard as advised by @James and get this

Two new beers from FCBC. And one is also a barrel aged saison. Like a pig in shit here.
Edit: proper smashing my goal difference on Untappd today 😁

Well done Ethan marra. I’ll keep you right ;)

Bastards reckon it’s out of stock :evil::evil:

Went into Tesco & couldn’t even see the label for the Coffee Guinness, so not sure if it’s not in there yet. Also, there was no Death Star II & no labels. I’ll be gutted if they’ve taken that out & left the Black Forest & Banana stout in there, cos it’s f***ing shit. Roaster Cosster is still going strong like.

Think even Morrisons stout range has diminished over the last 6 months.

Have you managed to find the Guinness Cold Brew Coffee Beer yet by any chance?

Reet then. Kings Cross / Russell Sq way. Bottle shops?!

Stopping the Friday & Saturday night, there’s 10 of us, but one is my 5 year old daughter. Trafalgar Sq on the Friday, but I’m guessing it’ll be 9 at the latest I’ll have to bring her back to the hotel. By the time we get back from Wembley & have a couple of pints it’s going to be getting on too.

So I’ll buy a few drinks for the hotel room, just in case. Anybody know of any decent shops around there? Can always stock up at Central Ale before the train, but don’t want to lug loads of cans about that there London.

Not this last time I was down but time before I was dragged to coal drops yard and there was a little can shop there. They didn’t have much tbh, and I probably wouldn’t trail up there just for that. It might just be worth holding your nose and and getting some from Brewdog? Be one in striking distance whichever way you head? Mebbes @James knows better.

We’re heading down Friday, and staying north of Wembley but driving down this time. I’m planning on taking some Vauxies cans down (f***ing superstition now). So if you some bellend wandering around Trafalgar Square supping from a Vaux can, introducing himself as Squirrel - anyone give me a shout 😂

Save your judgement, but I bought a bunch of ales in Lidl when we were in Scotland this weekend. Can't get them down our way unless you go direct to the brewery I'd guess so I'm looking forward to trying them.
Orkney, 71 Brewing, St Andrews, Loch Lomond and a couple of others I think, including one called "Magic Porridge"

If you bought the raspberry sour drink it when you are steaming, it may be the worst beer I've ever drank

Best bet is OL YEAH on Caledonia Road just around the corner from the station. It's not cheap mind, even by craft beer shop standards.

Bought 3 of the latest lidl releases, two dark and a session ipa. Haven't had the darks yet but the ipa was as bland as I'd feared. I really should just stop buying anything bar dark beers in there.

i picked up their kolsch for the match last night, very pleasent if cologne beer is your thing, not quite onbrand craft ale though. however, the lidl marketing is funny as fuck... "The Tettnag and Perle hops come together to form a delightful tartness that is perfectly matched by fruity notes of banana, with a playful bubble gum finish."

under no circumstances was there any banana or playful bubble gum finishes (with the exception of roberts goal!). this on the otherhand, wasnt too bad - pornstar martini ale:
