C.C:: Sussex v Durham (Hove)

See my post above, concussion can take time to manifest itself.

Trevaskis wasn’t straight off either, bearing in mind he took two blows to the head before being withdrawn.
Trevaskis was only taken off the field after the second blow to his head. The decision to take him out of the game was a bit later.

Sussex are a much better side than their early results suggested. Pujara and Rizwan were not available for the start and they have made some astute loan signings to cover injuries. Whoever called them the whipping boys did them a huge disservice and was only kidding himself.

Their results suggest they are indeed the whipping boys. They were only missing their international players for the opening game.

I know, that’s what I was getting at.

Thats a good signing Pujara, different game without him, just far above anyone else on the pitch.

Bit bad he cant get in India's team now

Bowling spin from both ends against him wasn't Scott's brightest idea. The one time he goes spin from both ends to chew through overs till the new ball - a decent enough strategy on the face of it - is against one of the world's finest players of spin.

One thing I don't know (amongst many) is once a player is off for concussion is that it for the game or can they be brought back in if they recover? I've no idea how realistic that is either mind, just wondering

Don't think you recover from concussion that fast

Nope, they're off and can take no further part in the match. I can understand that for T20 or even 50 over but in Trevaskis's case he seemed fine but had to be removed on day 1 of a 4 day game with no option to return.

Aye that's why I wondered if they could come back. I guess maybe it's unfair if someone comes in bowls 30 overs then swapped back for a fresh bowler... Still seems tenuous
For the second game running.

On the plus side, instead of following this shambles I'm off up whitburn instead so getting a chance to read your book

Not as unfair as losing a bowler with 550 first class wickets for a 21 year old rookie tbf!

Another century partnership coming up ffs.

Finn Hudson-Prentice was in the commentary box first thing and was saying that Durham would be looking to limit the Sussex lead to 200 this morning - it's obvious he hasn't been watching us these past couple of weeks.
