Rightmove Voyeurism

At least it’s got some character. The second one is hideous in every way.
Agreed. But very odd. It doesn’t look lived in, in any way. No pictures, nothing personal, cold and baron, as if someone has done it up for a sale and stuck some furniture in. But then why would you do the strange utility room/bedroom? Unless that is the room backing onto the bathroom, how do you even do the plumbing?

I didn’t actually see the bedroom / utility thing at first but what an idea! Wonder if my daughter would let me get away with that. 😂

She could have the warmest room in the house. Don’t bother with a radiator, just stick the dryer on an hour before bed time.

Needs a quick tidy:

When you have another child but don't want to give up your utility room...

photo 13 , never seen a bog with a built in sink before.

That is hideous inside (and outside for that matter). You can even tell they are Portsmouth fans by the colour of the furniture and the cooker.

Great story behind how it ended up like that.

The original Boom Tower was a nice early Victorian house owned by local shipbreaker Harry Pounds who died about 20 years ago or summat. House was bought by some local dotcom millionaire with the intention of moving their elderly father in (presumably without asking him). Anyhow, the elderly father already had a a nice big house on the hillslopes at the back of Pompey which had a garden that he was loathe to give up.

It subsequently turned out that the original building had massive structural defects that couldn't be corrected that weren't picked up in the survey etc, the owner sued the surveyor etc and won and got a load of compo.

Given the location the council put strict criteria down about how any new building should compliment its surroundings but for some reason ended up with that hideous mess (I can only think a backhander must have been exchanged). I think you'd be paying about £4m for the location and about £1m for the building. It's like it's been built to be hired out as an Air b/b rather than to be lived in.

I don’t understand why in a scratch build you still end up having to place beds in front of windows. Why? Just leave a free wall, it’s not rocket science.
Second why build such huge bedrooms and stick poky little beds in them so that you have to put two three seater settees in to make the room look furnished?
Rugs! Either they don’t have them where they need them, ie under the edges of th beds, or they are missing from under the table and chairs, or they are the wrong way round, like in the sitting room, or they are too small like under the kitchen table and chairs.
clearly more money than sense.
