C.C:: Sussex v Durham (Hove)

Well batted by 2 of our local gems

Aye this is mint and exactly what Durham is all about

Hope Trev and kick on and not fall down like Pringle did
Trevaskis is much further down the line than Pringle ever got. He has been excellent bowling in one day cricket even since Collys last season. He is the type of handy all rounder every team needs. He may never be a heavy wicket taker but he can keep an end tight which I don't believe Borthwick can do week in week out in the championship.

Aye you’re right like was just a word of caution, Trev England under 19 too

I think it’s a nice mix with borthwick if he focused on it and a good coach should be telling him to do that

Absolute miracle to get to 223 from 76/6 but nowhere near enough when you win the toss and bat first. We need a serious review of that batting as some players simply aren't pulling their weight.

A quick browse on Marty's twitter feed suggests he tripped over a curb edge and banged his face and head quite badly. The level of chat is noticeably poorer today.
These kerbs are booby trapped my friends
I tripped on a kerb in January and broke my hip and bashed my face on a fence.
Ended up in Dryburn hospital and during my near two month stays in there Shotley bridge Houghton primary care centre added an additional chest infection and a severe water infection
I can hobble about now but still have the after effects of the water infection
I’m not back to my normal self by any means but can now drive
The older you get the simplest things cause nasty accidents and recovery takes very much longer
I hope anyone who has a domestic accident has a quick and full recovery

Odd that he made it to cardiff then? I didn't hear much of the commentary but the snippets i could he didn't mention this, nor when i spoke to him (although it was a brief chat)

nice fella is marty, hope he recovery fully quick

Last few of days of county cricket have been very concerning. Top order failing on placid wickets with Borthwick and Petersen in need of a score and our bowling , Potts apart, looking very average and one dimensional. Our last 10 wickets have taken about 225 overs to get and cost about 650.
Sussex barring a collapse are well ahead in this game and the league table may look poor after this match.
Be interesting to hear from James Franklin soon to see whats going wrong and how we are going to improve.
We certainly need a spark from someone, momentum is not with us at the moment despite a good knock from Trev.

I’m getting an awful feeing about this game
Bowling looking toothless again so far

It’s bizarre. When we batted, our top order made the worst bowling attack in the country look brilliant and the pitch a minefield.

They’re now absolutely pissing along at over 5 an over and there hasn’t been the faintest sniff of a chance of a wicket.

Tom Clark, who took 3-21 in 17 overs and hit Rushy on the head with a bouncer - had taken 3 wickets in his first class career before today.

WHAT. THE. F**K man 🤷‍♂️

always gonna get the most movement on the first morning of a game, but just got to be good enough to get through it

unbelievably poor by Durham
quality by Potts again

I think North must have spent the winter in conversations about the England job not strengthening the squad as it's weaker than it was last year. We knew players had long term injuries or would be picked by England and The Hundred but did nothing to mitigate that. Petersen is a poor replacement for Bancroft as he's only here 7 games and woefully inexperienced playing in England.

Not sure what Franklin has been doing with the team as the team look like they've forgotten how to bat and bowl. Maybe he's distracted by the bullying allegations and needs a break?

Borthwick we've been talking about for some time: a signing and captaincy appointment based on heart not head. Did alright in the RLC last year but otherwise powerless and clueless how to influence the course of a match. More passive than Root and let's games drift. Hasn't a clue how to use spinners, especially himself.

Early doors and all that shit but this is a good team that is massively underperforming which invariably points to a leadership problem.

Why the frig didn't we bowl then?
