Netflix Hints At Password Sharing Crackdown As Subscribers Fall

If it wasn’t for my two kids I’d have got rid ages ago tbh. Got them through a 8 hour car journey today without one twist or moan

I’m on the top package but never really watch it anymore.

Why listen to someone else about Netflix, or why I think he's bellend?
I'm hoping they decide to rake in some cash by releasing physical box sets.
Highly unlikely, there business is built on streaming so why on earth would they go through the trouble of making presumably DVD? Remember Blockbuster?
Never out new on that's been decent in about a couple of year
Apart from all the best series 😂

Counter productive. I pay for the most expensive plan so that the kids can use it when they're at my mums or nanas. If they make that impossible I'd just go down to the cheapest account and I imagine loads of people will do the same
Same here, I pay for the most expensive so while I’m away, the step daughters away and my missus is at home we can all use it at the same time.
I’ve downloaded a certain streaming app that was very popular a few years ago and still works great now for free. So Netflix will be given the boot before the end of the month
Cannot see them changing the password policy tbh

Netflix is class and doing fine
To be honest, I have no idea how they would be able to. How can they tell the difference between someone working away or someone sharing a password

Number of people online. There's already limits on how many can share a screen. If there's 10 different IP addresses dotted around the country for some then it's pretty obvious there's account sharing going on.

If there's only 2 different IP's they'll probably not be that bothered. It's about the people who share it to everyone.

Similar they could look at whether there's multiple logins consistently in different locations which are both the same. That's pretty obvious sharing aswell.

It's quite easy :p

Hadn't realised the price rise. Use it loads with the kids and on/off ourselves bit think we may need to be more selective from now on.

Too many streaming services now imo, all expecting you to pay £10+ a month and none of them, in terms of streaming programmes alone, justify it
This. One of the great attractions of streaming a couple of years ago was that you could bin off an expensive Sky or Virgin subscription and subscribe to Netflix and Prime, iPlayer and channel 4 etc for free, and have most stuff that was streaming. Now though, interesting stuff is split across so many different streamers you're starting to assemble something that looks like a Sky subscription: Netflix and Prime and Disney+, Apple TV+ and Now TV (for Sky Atlantic stuff). I fancied watching The Americans but it's on Disney+ and I can't be chewed to subscribe just for that, ditto Slow Horses on Apple TV+.

I watched and loved The Bureau on Prime, but then the last season of five wasn't on Prime but was on the Sundance channel, which was a separate subscription (and yes, I did the one month and go thing). Going to be really irritating if series get spilt across streaming services to drive new subscriptions.

My Netflix usage has definitely been down significantly in the past year but any thoughts I may have about getting rid will be put off until at least July due to Stranger Things 4.
