Goodbye Marcus North

Goodbye Marcus North . England Director of Cricket according to the Telegraph??Times also hinted at it yesterday.

"At this stage, Marcus North, the former Australian Test batsman who is Durham’s director of cricket, appears the favourite. North has a long grounding in the English game, after representing five counties during his playing career and is viewed as a shrewd strategic thinker".

Will this mean a new branding for the club's media sites .🤔#forthenorth

I don’t get the appointment by England like

He’s doing ok at Durham but why would we want him dubbing English cricket

I don't think Mark Nicholas is a serious candidate. What is worrying is that Robert Key is.

I dont mind the idea of Key personally, i can see why others wouldnt, put I think he has some good views on how the England test team can improve.

I dont want North at all, I like him but I feel just appointing someone as they have been a DOC before is the wrong attitude, and how we ended up with Giles.

I think North would be better than Giles mind

Key suggested the 3 divisions for the county championship iirc

Would obviously mean 4 less games which didn't go down well on social media but if it was scheduled better I think it could work.

Yeah he did.

TBF mate I was more on about his views on coaches, captains, selection, and player schedules rather than his long term ideas for CC.

There are obviously wider issues but I don't think we should forget that there are a lot of talented players in England right now and better planning, coaching and execution around the actual squad could lead to a quick rise in results.

North out of the running according to The Times:

Rob Key expected to get the job now.
