High blood pressure

Less Coffee helps but it’s exercise and lifestyle. How much exercise and alcohol do you drink. Also what do you eat eat and your weight.

Obviously don’t have a americano before getting your bp done but it’s about moderation.

Already lost 20 pounds this year and would like to lose another 20 before the summer. I knew I had to lose weight as my blood sugar was approaching diabetic levels but it was a recent BP test which came as a surprise.

I've got a desk job which means not a lot of activity during the day but trying to go out for a walk before work, at lunchtime and after finishing (and trying not to walk to the pub)

That's next for me if bisoprolol doesn't kick in. Having another week monitoring BO and it is in the 150's regularly, not looking good.

Not sure if they meds will help with your BO ;)

I was in the 160s a month ago and have got it down to low 150s but going to give the tablets a go.

Managed to run out of my meds on Sunday and a mix up at the pharmacist meant I didn't get them until yesterday.
You forget how bad the side effects are until you come off them for a few days.
I'd argue I shouldn't be on them anyway as the only high reading I had was on an operating table when they were inducing angina. Going to stress you out a little bit.
Better safe than sorry but I'm not a fan of the meds.
beta blocker bounce is a killer, literally.

Strangely your are wrong. The beta blocker inhibits adrenalin which causes sweating which makes you pong.

Just been to the doc. She's put me on Ramipril for a months trial to see what happens.
As I’ve no faith in doctors following a near disaster I’ve no trust in what the GP issues.
However as I’m on Ramipril for ever, described by a heart specialist please make sure you get reviewed.
They wanted me to have a high dosage but blood tests and heart rate dictated it wasn’t a good idea after a month.
So then got reduced to my current rate , so long as you get reviewed and and not left too long in case it’s affecting you adversely.
Good luck mate

I'm certainly aware that doctors, and especially GPs, are infallible.

Only on 2.5mg a day to start with then a review after 1 month. Also going in for an ECG next week to make sure the old ticker is OK.

Similar with me but my Blood Pressure is fine on the low dosage so luckily didn't up it. I'd rather be off it altogether but I'll live with it for now.

Bp usually 135/92 and cholesterol of 6.1.
Docs zoom call next week so expect to be told to shape up .
Some interesting posts on here that give some good advice .
