Defoe talk-in - Roker Hotel tonight

Ok, talk fact and truth, all this shit would have gone away if KLD paid what he promised to pay.
There would now be a new owner in the club, a billionaire but no he offers 2/3rds of the agreed share price.
JS don't count because KLD has a deal in place with him to cover that.
OH and CM and SD will continue to fund the club, because they both have enough to do it

Telt yers it would be pointless

Your right

They didn’t have enough to fund it while they owned it, hence the loans / looking for investment.

I also don’t blame KLD for playing them if that's what is happening, they deserve everything they get

As much as I loved Roy Keane, he set the tone for years of waste & poor financial management. Roy Keane should be embarrassed he spent someone else’s money & realised straight away he’d wasted it. How he can say it as some kind of badge of honour is beyond me.

As for Defoe, I don’t care how out of his depth he feels, he should have stopped until the end of the season & played the 10/15 mins we’d ask, if he was needed. Out if 7 games, how many would he actually have been needed? I’m not buying the fact he physically can’t get in the pitch, because that would have been addressed in his statement. The fact he’s signed so recently is the problem. If he’d have been here a year & thought he’d deteriorated, that’s a different story. He told us he could do a job when he signed his contact & accepted his wages. 6/7 weeks ago.
Don't agree.Surely poor financial management is down to the people upstairs who hold the purse strings.Roy Keane was fantastic for us

Absolutely shite talk in to be fair. A compère who didn’t dare ask any pressing questions. A main attraction who isn’t comfortable being it. A hall full of people, only half of whom could hear. A comedian who died on stage - absolutely painful to watch.

I absolutely love the bloke mind.

Nick Barnes was woeful last night, went full Alan Partridge

I get the feeling that we came to a contract exit ''agreement'' as it is now apparent promotion is a long shot and they are cash conscious....

hope I'm wrong though

There's an attempt by some to push the Defoe stuff onto KLD and the share issue, and the two things shouldn't be grouped together. Also it was a fundraiser last night by all accounts, that shouldn't be forgotten. And if it was poorly organised that's unfortunate, but again that's nothing to do with KLD either.

Everyone had their part to play, but Roy Keane was the one who insisted on signing players for good wages to encourage them to come here.

However, the example is Greg Halford. That’s 100% Keane. The opposite of the Grigg situation. The board/owners backed their manager. He spent their money then decided the next day he’d fucked up & wasted it.

By the way, I was gutted when Keane left

This 100%. It also caused massive upheaval behind the scenes at crucial time
Whatever anybody says about Johnson abs speakman, they have flaws, let’s face it a fair few but it did feel they were working together and from sane hymn sheet
This Defoe saga became a soap opera, the ex managers (love or loath) concerns were legitimate and ultimately correct his comments ‘moving in different’ directions I think we know what he’s eluding too, let’s face it he was signed day after he was sacked
For Defoe to sign 6 month contract then bugger off month or so later sorry it’s poor.
He could of still managed the odd 10 minute cameo in the 3rd division, added to fact the crucial role he could of played in dressing room off the pitch at crucial point of season, a club he loves and ‘gets’ right? The fans pushing him as some sort of pope figure, please!!! we just look small time and naive.
His line of ‘didn’t want to prevent youngster progress by being here’, really? we’re buying that?
It’s really exposed club and who runs it and their incompetence off it
I agree with that point about 'blocking the path of a youngster'. That's sophistry, really. from Defoe, because we simply don't have young strikers who are ready to play for the first team. Broadhead would play, whether Defoe was here or not.

What the fuck are you talking about man? He was only contracted for the next 7 game

He’s absolutely shit all over the club because he can’t be arsed. He can fuck right off

So, what did he say then? If you could hear that is
Best ever goal was against Newcastle - obviously.
Only manager he never got on with was Eddie Howe - what a surprise.
Ground he used to love playing at was SJP…………because he always used to score there - what a surprise.
He retired because his body can’t do it anymore and it gives someone else a chance to do what many people were hoping he would do and score the winner at Wembley.
