The Last Of Us 2 PS4

Limited ammo is part of the survival element of the experience.

What games are on your radar?
Understand that, but when your picking through guys with guns and there aren't bullets in their guns but you got them before they got a shot off.... or your going through a camp and see the green ammo cans and can't even search them...

As for other games on my radar, there just isn't anything on my radar right now. I love the open world first/third person games and would prefer not to play something through again... last few games have been RDR2, AV - Valhalla, Ghosts of Tsushima, The Last of Us 2 and Fallout 76 so anything anyone can suggest along that line would be great

Came back to this as there Black Friday sale has started on PSN and there appears to be open world stuff reduced, i.e. Spiderman - Miles Morales, Fary Cry 6, Deathloop (sorta), Mafia Definitive Edition, Watch Dogs - Legion etc. oh and Witcher 3 GOTY for 7 quid.

Just finished it. Can’t really explain what I’ve just played but I loved it. The whole thing was mad as fuck. Brilliant.

Would recommend God of War remastered if you haven’t played it.

I started playing it before I got busy, have to get back to it shortly.

it's immersive whether one likes the story or not is my take. i.e. the gameplay, graphics and tense elements of the game make different to basically any other story game very made

I agree and I thought the story was class from start to finish. Playing as the antagonist and switching between them makes you get both sides of the story in a way that I’ve never seen done before in a game. Can see why some people didn’t like it but I thought it was brilliant. I wouldn’t have minded if going on for another 10 hours with Abby coming back to Jackson and killing Ellye.

Finally giving this a crack - played about an hour last night and just getting into it. finished the first one during lockdown 1 - but wanted to finish RDR2 before I started this.

Its WAY more brutal than the first one - I'm dying, a lot. And the scene with the golf club i certainly wasnt expecting that

yeah it's a lot more graphic than the first
its a lot harder on standard as well - I think the bit in the supermarket where you have to kill the 2 clickers. I think i died about 25 times before i got the hang of it!!

Getting there with it now and dying less - although still prone to pressing the button too hard when sneaking up on the clickers and they turn around and rip my throat out!

I only ever play it on the hardest setting, depends what you want out of a game i guess, normally play games on normal but for this one i wanted to not have enough bullets and the enemy to be rock hard so i could immerse myself in the survival aspect. I guess if you someone prefers more action then an easier setting would be better. I died loads mind.

I remember getting to the first one on boss, that huge woman who nicks your back pack with hardly any health left, so she kept on one shotting me, died loads. Im not going to add any spoilers in case there are people who have not played it, but the last one on one boss in the village with the huge bald person and a sickle (i think), wow.

I'm a proper casual gamer these days as I dont generally get that much time so if i played it any harder setting i'd still be in the first bit dying constantly

I tend to dip in and out of games - took me a good couple of years to finish RDR2!

Avoiding them altogether is an option sometimes. There's a load more resources than I remember for the first game I thought, i.e. more bullets.

After going through the first game I tried to do a Grounded playthrough a while back and was stuck on some bits for ages. Think the first bloater fight took my like 50 goes. End up getting stuck on the 2nd one at the hydro plant as I basically had no ammo or explosives and had to fight off multiple runners, a couple clickers and a bloater with fists and a table leg or summit.

just had a look at the difficulty ratings as i wasn't sure what they were, I said that I had it on the hardest one but I must have been mistaken, I dont think it was that hard, must of been the survivor one. There is an option for permadeath on grounded, I would never have finished it

I tried putting in on the easier settings to get all the trophies post game and it just wasnt the same game. it needs the difficulty so you can appreciate it. didnt get all the trophies, in the end i did what I do whenever i start a game, ended back on the last of us one factions

Grounded mode didn't exist at launch. I'm not sure it even existed when the remaster first came out. I think survivor mode is only available after you've finished the game once. In grounded you can get knocked out in out punch, it's brutal at times. I watched some videos to be able to get past some sections. There's one bit where I just ran past all the enemies and it triggered a cutscene so you pass the section.

I agree that the game is better when played with the difficulty up as the intensity is what makes the tension and therefore the feel of the game.

Spent a million hours on factions, love it!! But I haven’t managed to jump on for a while. Are there any new maps?

No it's about the same. It's so addictive though. I'm not sure how the teams are picked but after about a years break I went back to it and everyone left were the die hards and we're all good players. I cannot tell if I'm back up to speed now and the standards are slipping but nobody really stands out any more. I think I was pitted against that rage person the other week who does all the love YouTube videos, whether it was him or not, he was bloody good. most of the really good snipers have gone, which is fine by me because they piss me right off. I'm sure they used to cheat.

You seem to be able to get a game now with ease, hardly any waiting about.

Ooo you’re making me want to turn it on right now. Die hards only sounds class. I’ve still got some hours to do to get to 999. Think I’m only 500 or so.

Some of the shots snipers would kill you with were impossible!! Through f***ing walls and shit! No chance!

As long as my beloved Lakeside remains, I’m happy. Got my bomb spots cemented there - never fails! 😎
