The Athletic's whole brand is that it's premium, paid for sports journalism. They don't generally trade in ropey info
Whilst that is true, slow days at the office and having to fill column inches can lead to slight speculation creeping into articles. I know that might be clinging to slight hope, but the article does read as speculation rather than complete fact.

Hopefully Keane spills the beans on National tv and tells the whole country what an unambitious ownership group we have. This is not just speakman this is KLD. Fancy liking tweets when the deal isn’t done. How amateurish can you get? Who would have guessed a 20 odd year old kid running a football club doesn’t have a clue

Aye we should take our time at a crucial part of the season and allow 2 blokes clearly not up to the job to continue losing games. No rush
We had 3 broad choices

1) keep Johnson on until the end of the season and actively search for a new manager at the close

2) sack him quickly and get a manager quickly (McCann or Lennon)

3) sack him quickly and TRY to take a bit of to see if we can get someone more suited to the philosophy

I personally think we’ve been rash sacking so and would have gone with choice 1.

I think this needs to be addressed. The thinking that he is a dinosaur, a hothead, a loose canon, is predominantly based on his playing days, and yes, back then, was probably correct.
He is 50 years old now, and has matured, both in his outlook, and his tactical ability and knowledge of the game.
People change with age. I joined the forces because if I hadn't I would probably have done time. Even in the Navy, I was permanently in the shit. Ffs, I hoyed a taxi driver into the water in Plymouth dockyard once, because he had no change for a tenner.

I am happy with my garden and my dog now. Mellow (ish)

He is the right man, at the right time, not the hand grenade he once was.
Can I just say I love a good story in a response! Not saying my response was my thoughts but the thread I was responding to was suggesting he wouldn't like working with data as I read it. Almost the poster was saying he wouldn't work with the model of our new regime.
