Aye exactly totally confusing.Well man, this is just bollocks though.
Apart from the fact he's still the best bowler in the country, we're depriving the younger seamers of a month on tour with the best seamer we've ever had. A month of seeing how the best of the best works on his delivery, a month they could be spending soaking up as much of Jimmy's experience as they can.
Stupid twats.
I don't believe there is anyway Strauss would leave them out at this stage without Root being happy with it.Well Strauss is in charge so hard to look past him.
But I wonder if Root has any part in it.
I'd love to know the genuine rationale behind it. Strauss statement wasn't a particular good one.
Any evidence to support this? We've just gone through a year of awful, shitty team scores where Joe batted at his preferred #4. It stands to reason his personal average will suffer if he bats three, or opens, but as captain he should do what is best for the team and sacrifice his average so the likes of Ollie Pope, Dan Lawrence and Ben Foakes can build our next middle order.the whole team scores less runs
It's just the sort of dumbfuckery you'd expect 3, 6 or 12 months ago. Makes you wonder how many of the bad selections were actually down to Silverwood.England will lose, Root will be sacked, Broad and Anderson will be back, imo.
He's been brilliant for us since he came. Will be a big loss if he steps up.Delighted for Lees
When was the last time Durham had 3 players play in a test match together?
Great achievement for the club!

Saw something on twitter last night suggesting it’ll be
3 - Root
4 - Stokes
5 - Bairstow
6 - Pope or Lawrence
7 - Foakes
