Speakman is responsible for letting Flan go without a replacement. Of his signings last Jan, Stewart has been a big success, Winchester has blown hot and cold but ok overall and Jordan Jones was just an ineffective show pony. The jury is still out on all the summer signings. Doyle started well but is now a liability, Huggins has been unable to contribute at all. Hughins, Broadhead and Evans all had fitness issues before signing. Cirkin has been disappointing. Pritchard started poorly but has done well recently. We still don’t have cover for Stewart.

I can forgive any mistakes in the above but appointing a manager of 10 years experience of achieving precisely nowt was his biggest mistake. However, since he has achieved precisely nowt himself, maybe employing LJ made him feel comfortable. We have philosophies, processes, data analysis and a 5year plan, all of which are made to sound like we have stumbled onto something special.

Being without a manager at this stage of the season indicates how incompetent he is.
Stewart , broadhead and Pritchard have been great signings.
Huggins had previous injury problems? He was 20 when we signed him wasn't he!
Cirkin has been great, and nearly everyone thinks he is a much better player than Hume was (I liked Hume btw). He's been dissapointing the last few games like everyone has.
He's scouring the foreign market and hoffman is our 2nd best keeper since the premier league days imo. I'm also a fan of dajaku , and looking forward to seeing the irish lad Hume.
Winchester was deffo a LJ signing, not a speakman one.
Flann I think was desperate to leave. We had a replacement lined up which fell through.
For the first time since we got relegated we are getting in players who could make the step up.
This season we have easily played the best footy since relegation (and the worst anarl) but that shows they have the skills if they have the organisation.
The previous signings of players that shit championship sides didn't want, like grigg, power, obrian are thankfully over.
We're in league 1 and you're on about cover for Stewart and defoe!
What sort of player did you expect us to get in to cover those two - as they wouldn't start in front of them? How much could we afford to spend on fees and wages?
Live in the real world. Kimpioka is the cover if both get injured. Maybe Roberts too.
We've not had a manager now for 8 days. Maybe there are things that need discussing in detail. Ipswich took 2 weeks to get a new manager. As did Everton.
But yeah, let's just appoint someone in 2 days without going into detail so BOTH parties dont know what to expect.
I get it. The last 2 games have hurt as fuck and I can't bear the thought of another season in this f***ing league, but I don't think most folk on here are being rational.

The Athletic seem a reasonable source.
I’d be tempted to believe their latest tweet re a decision being made tomorrow with an appointment on Thursday.

I just hope it’s the right appointment

The fans won't make his position untenable. There will be lots of stamping of feet on here but most fans will give the new manager a chance come what may. Lennon would be a kick in the teeth but Neil or McCann would be pretty acceptable to most.
Really?

Speakmen will have to hope they hit the ground running.

If its one of these leading lights how many do you think will be at the SOL for the next home game?

I wager it will not be 38,000. Fans will vote with their feet.

The people running the club haven’t a clue what the are doing, just winging everything. Fortunately nobody outside of Sunderland cares what we do anymore to report fully on the s***storm.
