“Edging closer”

Absolute shite

There’s disagreements or things to iron out and then they get sorted and it’s done

Edging closer would imply that every so often a tiny bit more progress is made. That’s not how stuff like this works. You’re at a deadlock over soemthing and then you’re not

Come on it's only 11 years since he managed Ipswich.
Can't understand why he's never been snapped up.
How many managers has the club had in the interim period, something like 10 ?
It's crazy to think how many times we've thought sacking instead of backing is the answer. I do think KLD will be different despite sacking his manager after 14month but we have got so much wrong ever since the demise of Peter Reid and the sale of the c if we're being honest. Drummerville did wrong by being too generous with player contracts. Short chucked money at it but was clueless in running the club and trusted the wrong people and we've been a catastrophe since he started mothballing us.

That’s not true at all mate. Generally in contract discussions you start with an initial offer, which may result in a long-list of areas for discussion/negotiation and then there may be some compromise from each side until, eventually, all snags are worked through and an agreement is reached before signatures.

Weekly wage offers going up/down by £1 at a time…

Is it just me or is the twitter admin trying to wind us up with all these non manager related posts today? Got a sneaky feeling today could be the day! Here’s hoping anyways, regardless of who we get in. Just whoever next please get us out this pissy league!
As opposed to the last week of non manager related posts?

I understand your point but the problem with this, Hodge, is what does "decent" mean? It differs for everyone. If Keane rejects our offer (if we've made one) he clearly doesn't think it's decent, whereas the club thinks it is.
Take your point fella, all im saying is Keane has to be realistic with the size of the club he could attract at this point.

in terms of recruitment Stewart was an excellent buy. Dajaku is decent. Roberts and Clarke have the potential to be very good additions. McGeady will be back soon. Defoe was a good short time addition to give us experience upfront. Broadhead will hopefully play the last 10-12 games. That’s six attacking players who should be available in next 3 months plus Broadhead. How many were you expecting us to have.

Goals have not been a problem this season. We have got rid of Hawkes OBrien and Diamond who added 1-2 goals combined And added players with goals in them. surely that’s some kind of progress.
Goal will be a problem if Stewart is not playing JD cannot be our main striker for 90 minutes for 16 games .... i was talking about goal scorers not just wingers .....you talk about potential well im sick of potentiate that's not what we needed in the January window ... i will put money on it( will you) that headboard will not play 10 to 12 games and geedy is a 3-4 away at least and i dont think we can rely on roberts as a starter. So yes potential is there buts not what we needed.......clark and metty look ok but i still think we should have had another striker who was actually ready to put the ball in the net!Do you really think we have enough striker options if stewart is injured?????

Right but it doesn’t slowly edge closer over the course of a week as the issue/issues they can’t agree on are not slowly adjusted in tiny increments. If they’ve been discussing it for 5 working days it’s not just been a slow edge of progress. There’s been a deadlock.

Well yes, there's either agreement or there's not in the quite literal sense, but there can be numerous items to resolve on the way, so as each one is resolved you could be said to be edging closer to a final agreement.

The fact that they're reported to be edging closer however, could well be complete know nowt shite.

The system is fine. Maybe the personnel aren't? They have to have courage of their convictions, it was never ever going to be a quick fix.

What is fine mate? I’m not really seeing anything that’s fine

Problem is we are going backwards and it needs something different
