Maybe Keano is waiting for a decision from his sidekick Tony Laughlin who is currently first team coach at Burnley. Remember when Martin O'Neill came in he was expecting John Robertson to join him. He didn't and MON certainly didn't work as well without him.

This next appointment is the biggest we’ve made in years and years. If Keano walks and we end up with McCann, the atmosphere and feeling around the club will be utterly horrendous. It feels like we are on a cliff edge here

Agreed. The Mags will blow us out of the water in years to come if we don't make some ambitious decisions of our own. It's not all about that of course but the club and region need to somehow get out of this league ASAP and at least close the gap before a generation of support is lost, similar to how it was in the Keegan years. If we appoint McCann it will show that our board do not share this ambition or simply do not get the feel for a situation, and a failure to deliver promotion will be the death knell for long serving fans who will probably pack in next season.

This could all get really very uncomfortable for the board very quickly.

It’s a consummate lesson in how to not control a narrative and how not to appoint a manager / head coach. It has shone a light on a highly inexperienced , and dare I say incompetent, group of people running the club at different levels.

It’s been heresy to say that things aren’t all that well directed or organised at SAFC since the arrival of KLD but some people have been aware that it hasn’t been very good at all. This is the culmination.

Even if Keane is appointed, which for their sake he needs to be, it hasn’t been done well. To have the same coachin staff in charge of tomorrow nights fixture is nothing short of an absolute disgrace. There has never been a more out of their depth group of people take charge of SAFC. That’s not their fault, it’s the sporting director and his superiors.

f***ing Sunderland man
Imagine if McCann or Neil get the job this week.

We then lose to Wimbledon and MK Dons, which is very possible.

It will be as bad as it ever has been in the SOL like.

I can assure you that I’ll not be there to witness it.

If eleven days of fact finding and interviews results in someone like Neil, McCann or the crap former Forest fella in charge then I’m done.
