I agree mate, but I think a fair few others would expect top 2 still. If Keane doesn’t take it whoever does will be gone by end of season. So he could come back in summer and start afresh

The odds are increasingly stacked against us. After that debacle today, we are all coming to terms with the likelihood we're here for another year. We're rolling the dice in an effort to try and get promoted.
He doesn't 'have' to deliver in three months; but Keane gives us the hope, that faint glimmer of hope that we might be able to claw our way out of this division come May.

I want him back mate 100%, I’ve said all through this thread. A just don’t want him to get a 6 month contract and him be expected to get promotion or he goes. Houdini couldn’t bring these ***** back to been promotion contenders.

I am so disappointed in the way we have handled it myself, I have praised the club a lot all year, but they had to have someone lined up to take over a day or 2 after Johnson if they were gonna sack him.
We just wasted a key game which we couldnt afford to, and let it linger on, now if we dont appoint Keane it looks like a disaster
But if we had just moved quick for a nmber 1 target after Johnson, even if not Keane, it would have been supported
I just presumed Speakman and co would have a candidate ready to go, I thought that was the whole point of him.
Keane looked like he was coming on ITV, but that really really random Speakman interview worried me yesterday,not convicned he will now
If there was any doubt at all tho it’s defo been amplified after today. Even Keano won’t get us up this year, we are dog rotten all over the park. Defence is abysmal. I hope he gets 18 month and we start properly in the summer. We haven’t got a chance this year for me, I was a believer till today.
I agree, having him does not mean we get promoted. It's gonna be really close and at the minute we ain't good enough to go up. He'll do his best but he needs to have at least all of next season to get us up on his contract as well. I think he wants to be here, he believes this is a big club. Every time he has ever spoken about us he gets it and believes in us. If it worked, he'd like nothing better than to take us back to the top and be here for years.

We sacked Johnson, and appointed 2 youth coaches, why did we think we'd play better.
We'd have been much better keeping johnson till we had someone lined up,
today was such a waste, but we couldnt afford to waste 1 game, we only have 16 left now
we arent good enough for top 2 mind thats the reality, Wigan and Rotherham are better teams than us with more balanced XIs
Yep, the board and KLD liking that Keane post on Twitter has just painted themselves into a corner. They must have known that if Johnson dropped points again that he'd have to go, so they should have had feelers out even before the Bolton game? Today was a crucial wasted game there and no matter what happens now those two clowns cannot be in charge of team selection come Tuesday. The board must appoint on Monday or we can kiss that game goodbye as well.

You do have a point and I’m probably knee jerking to an extent, it’s just a big kick in the **** when we’ve been buzzing for this appointment + Defoe and then you see that shite today.
