Loved his body language and his smile but I have a concern that his demands maybe a stretch for us, but hope I’m wrong

I don’t think it would be about money for him. At least not this year.

Much more likely that he’s said he wants a minimum 18 months, whether we go up this year or not. Any manager would surely want that. At least one full season in charge.

I think he should be getting longer than 6 month too, 18 month minimum. But I can see our board’s viewpoint on an initial contract till end of the season when he hasn’t managed in a while.

I think we’ll cave and offer him an 18 month contract. There’s too much feel good factor to ignore, more than when Poyet was linked come to think of it.

Contract May mean length not necessarily ££ wages , and assurances on spending budget if promoted
