if he were available..wagner..the lad who managed huddersfeild, or mark robins at coventry...or chelsea u23 manager andy myers. the latter being my favoured option of the lot. brings different skill set than does keane, but probably the bewst available with that skillset

Wagner manages Young Boys in Switzerland.

Robins is never going to leave a playoff chasing Championship side over halfway through the season.

I'd imagine we will talk to 4 or 5 possibly some we don't know about or haven't been touted in the press. Last time we were told they talked to Johnson, Cowley and Poyet. This time it may be more of which McCann is one.

Absolutely right I hope you are

This logic of just getting someone in because he’s been promoted from league one once before annoys me though

3 managers a year get promoted. Doesn’t mean they’re good fits for us

Its just wrong to call the manager of the champions of the league we want to get out of 'a no-mark'. It would be a big come down compared to Keane but he is probably a decent coach who could fit into our model. Hull last year were a team that had passion, self belief and real attacking intent.
I think managing hull and sunderland are two completely different challenges on so many levels. You can not compare us to them, different expectation, more fans. It’s like being in a goldfish bowl at SAFC.

Any competent contract lawyer (barrister or solicitor) could deal with the contract negotiations. So far as I know, a person is still permitted to engage a lawyer of their choice in regard to any legal matter (assuming the lawyer agrees to act, of course). I would imagine (but correct me if I'm wrong, which I might well be!) that the legal qualifications of a barrister or solicitor would supersede those of an agent (the latter would doubtless need to be licensed). The lawyer carries mandatory professional indemnity insurance which I imagine would provide greater protection to his client (in the event of an actionable act or omission) than anything an agent might offer (unless said agent also happens to be a lawyer, of course!).
the lawyer wouldnt negotiate but would review the legal documents after ahgreed. i think, but could be wrong, that licensed agents are required to have insurance now as well.

They told us that they had interest from all over the world and when you look at the names being considered, apart from Keane it is a huge step down.
There are people with absolutely no qualifications in coaching football at any level who will inquire about the vacant position. There’s a bloke who is quite proud of the amount of rejection letters he gets. They may come from other countries other than the UK and Ireland.

Pity that.

I was hoping it would be announced today, nice build up for tomorrow. The longer it drags on the more the likelihood for something to go wrong or for itchy feet to occur.

If we end up with McCann there will be some meltdown. The servers on here would melt for a start!

With how this has been built up, including the owner liking posts about it, they are in for a serious backlash if it ends up being anyone other than Keane now and whoever the new manager is will be fighting a losing battle from day one.

Imagine the club trying to hype up Mcann, the scarf pic, the oustanding candidate talk from Speakman, Safc twitter posting his pic every 10 mins. Makes me feel a bit ill. Wouldnt even bother watching his interview. Be flat as a pancake if its anyone but Keane now.

keane is only being offered a six month deal like..lasts long is not a requirement
Talk of 18 months isn't there? It feels very Ellis Short era to be honest, the club needing a shock to get over the line. If it works then brilliant but it also leads to, why listen to this person they'll be gone soon - potential from the players.

Same as what luke Edwards just said then
That’s how it works one person puts something out there then others take it and pass is off as their own then someone else will say ‘my mate or an ITK’ has said… the fact that the journalists are contradicting each other suggests they are all just guessing.
