LJ never managed in the Premier and Keane never managed in league one.
The % means bot all.
My point is that if another manager with the same record as Keane was being suggested nobody on here would want them as they don't have stats to suggest they'd be able to get us out the league with 17 games left.

Tin hat on.

I honestly think that if Keane managed another club instead of us back in the championship, and then still had the same uninspiring results at other his clubs after that. Nobody on this board would be suggesting him as a manager.

Or if a manager had got promotion for one side, then had a very similar managerial career to Keane they wouldn't even be considered. His win percentage is 38.7% that's hardly what we need with 17 games left to play. For reference Lee Johnsons is 40.1%.

I fear for too many people are looking at things through nostalgic lenses and there's not really anything to suggest that success can be repeated.
He has done it for us tho, he gets the club and the fan base and he’s a massive worldwide name. It’s hardly unsurprising the majority of safc fans are in support of this.

He's not just another manager though is he ? He had a decent amount of success here last time . Was a top top player and he's a high profile manager who will increase media attention on the club which could help with off field commercial deals as an added bonus .

Just because someone done it for us over 10 years ago, and hasn't been in charge of a club for over 10 years doesn't mean they'll suddenly be able to do it again.

How can you compare win percentages when Keane has managed in the Premier League and is only 1.4% behind?

He gets the club and people resonate with it.

Stats don't really tell the full story. Keane's is including playing the likes of Man United, City, Liverpool, Chelsea every week and Johnson's had the dossers from League 2 and U18s in the Pizza Cup to prop up his stats (though he fucked some of them up as well).

Not really a good comparison.

Does media attention get us promoted like?
Doesn't mean he can't either .
I just think nobody would ever consider anyone with a similar record to his. Its purely because he did it once with us and has done nothing since.

Its not, it was just a lazy comparison. My point is that we wouldn't be considering another manager with similar stats.

My main point is that we wouldn't consider anyone with a similar record from over 10 years ago with no other manager experience since. Its purely down to nostalgia over that championship season. There's absolutely no evidence to suggest he would do the same again, in a lower league with worse players with no transfer window and 17 games to go.
