Roy Keane

This is all building up to a typical SAFC anti climax. Expect MicMac 😀

That makes life difficult for KLD. If we don’t appoint Keane after his tantalising titillation on Instagram last night it could significantly bite him in the arse if the rest of the season doesn’t go well.

I’m just hoping that he wouldn’t be that naive given he knows Sunderland supporters will latch on to any public indication from their club’s owner

I'm fully caught up in this. It's gonna be a top laugh. But his punditry is mostly awful. If Souness said the stuff Keane does most of the time, he'd be derided as a dinosaur. In actual fact Souness does. Keane is an intelligent man and I hope it's at least a part due to him playing the character of Roy Keane. There's certainly the hint of a knowing wink about it all. But the stuff he says on telly is mostly designed to get a response from football fans. He will need to provide something different in an actual changing room.

Let’s not forget Keane once said something along the lines of “the thought of working as a tv pundit feels me with dread, I can’t think of anything more boring and soul destroying”

Just a tongue in cheek regarding those who seem to think that because he hasn’t managed for a decade that he’s somehow unaware of the rapidly changing state of modern football.

I agree RW his punditry, I think he’s mainly trying to be provocative/controversial like you say the character of RK.

I’d hope that the dressing room conversations listened differently to his sky box contributions :)

So much of it is a wind-up for him. I'm convinced of it. You've only got to see him taking glee in taking the piss out of Spurs every chance he gets. But he will definitely need to bring something different in an actual football club.

The biggest issue imo is his capacity to accept other players are not him or his team mates from UTD. If he has been introspective from his past management experience he will be a changed man, if he has not this is going to be very exciting for a while and then it will go sour.

I would love to see Keane back at SAFC, the bloke is a whirlwind, full of passion, and he is smart. Fingers crossed for all involved.

If he turns it down it will be personal reasons as in his sky stuff and the leisurely life he leads. My worry is folk think Kyril will not have done enough wheras I think he will have. Twisting Keanes arm isn't easy.
Sorry I didn't mean "if Keane turns it down", I meant if KLD turns the chance down.

We will not get a better man for the job.
This is KLDs chance to show his ambition.

If this doesn't happen, then we know the new regime are "smoke and mirrors"
