I don't mind Alex Neil of the alternatives, but the last time he achieved anything in management we were still in the PL and Obama was still American president. His successes weren't especially recent.
Much closer than Keane's last achievement though. I just feel Keane is being appointed purely because some of the fans want him, and not actually because he is the right man for the job. I'd love to be proved wrong mind

There's a good chance it could end up like Keegan's second spell up Newcastle. Nostalgia gets in the way but reality quickly kicks in and it goes flat pretty quick.

The clamour is that great now that if he wants it I can't see how the owner cant give him it.

I wonder if KLD liking that post yesterday was because he knew the impact it would have; to get this place and twitter etc into an excited frenzy and to show Keane how much he is wanted back. I reckon if Keane has any reservation at all it might well come from a bit of insecurity about him wondering whether the fanbase would welcome him back. Well, KLD knows, as do we, that he would be overwhelmingly popular. Haway Keano!

My worry exactly. It's a risk i'd probably take if it's a short term one to the end of the season, but i can't see Keane being the answer long term

If we have the best squad in the league and we are not running away with it then the problem must be our mentality.

A winning mentality is what Keane can offer most, if the right choices are made regarding backroom staff then improved coaching will help as well.

If we did hire Keane, imagine being in the room when he starts reviewing our recent games and analysing the video with the players.
We may have the best squad in their half, not so much in ours.
But I'm all for a controlled nuclear detonation to power us through the playoffs.
