It’s fuckinh nuts people would prefer some shit ex player from the lower leagues turned manager than Roy Keane man ffs give your head a shake
Aye. Only idiots would want that. And not just fans too.
Cos IF we go up, players will want to come to play for Roy. Imagine now playing for Roy keane, possibly being coached by jermaine defoe.

Or playing for Alex neil or grant mcann.
It's a world of difference and instantly makes us such a huge draw. Our pull in getting players in the summer would be second to none in the championship

Today is the day I reckon. Anyone with reservations should put them aside. We need everyone on board. Defoe has given us the spark and ignited the fire in the belly of the beast. Appoint Keane now and that will fan the flames of momentum.
Don't underestimate the feel good factor and the impact of inspired support roaring on the lads in pursuit of the common goal of getting us moving upwards and out of this awful league.
If we pull this off there should be massive praise and appreciation for KLD and Speakman. Buckle up folks and enjoy the ride. Ha'way Keano. We are waiting patiently. We are Sunderland.

So wiil it be 2 legends at the SOL this weekend, Keano and Defoesy followed by Cissesy paying his own fare and digs while he has a trial?

The kids today (either side) will likely be excited to play in front of a footballing legend. Not sure his intimidating stance carries through the same as it did first time round. Changed world. Opposition just as likely to play their ‘cup final’. Great stadium has been enough so far. Add in Roy Keane and JD and equal impact both ways!
We have the talent. Perhaps we just need a quite (perhaps boring) master craftsman to bring it out!

Keane coming back as manager has to be one of the most idiotic ideas I've ever heard. Other than getting us promoted ages ago, he's done nothing at all. He's been out of management too long and he won't work at all with a DoF. Appoint him and it won't be long before he either walks out or he's sacked. I'd rather we kept Streaky than have Keane back.
Amazing how all the anti Keane posters know exactly what he won't do...the guy has been interviewed numerous times and talked about what he has learned over the years and will work with but they know better.

I presume all of this will covered in any interview/discussion with KLD so we will get to see exactly what he will and won't work with rather than what is told as gospel on here.

I respect all views and whilst I and the vast majority of my mates would love to see Keane back a couple are a little cautious, however you only have to look at the general reaction on this thread and consider the alternatives of McCann, Neil & Warnock to see Keane coming back as a positive imo.

As I have said before the one thing that both Keane and Defoe will bring to the club is another level of professionalism and standards which none of these players will have seen before.

FFS we are talking about basically swapping AOB and LJ for Defoe and Keane!

If I was in the dressing room I would be chomping at the bit to impress them and walking 10 foot taller.

This can only benefit SAFC in my eyes and let's hope it happens.

This is why people just need to chill for a few more hours. If it happens - great. If it doesn’t - whoever gets the job needs our complete support as we should still be able to go up
I’d be just as disappointed with a no mark like the others linked regardless of whether Keane was ever in the frame.
