Recruitment was one of the big things that let him down. If he only has a say, and not control, that's a plus for me.

He seemed to like to sign problem players and then chastise and ostracise them (Diouf, Chimbonda, Cisse to a degree).

As a high profile figurehead and an initial crowd draw, he was fantastic and he dragged us from looking League 1 bound to promotion initially.

We used to laugh at the mags over their Keegan and Shearer obsession. We are going the same over Keane and Defoe. We just lost 6-0 and it’s seems forgotten over a couple of big names.

I like Defoe but can’t stand Keane. Some of the things he’s said and done over the years are appalling. We will become Ireland reserves again and that won’t get us where we want to be.
I’m very dubious about the prospect of him returning. I just don’t see the logic and I’ll be a little underwhelmed

Keane signs friday
In the stands saturday
40,000 fans
Defoe starts
Mekeke buzzing in midfield
Dan Neil released to play further up the pitch
Clarke and Roberts flying down the wings
Lose 0-1 to Donny

To gain their first away win of the season for good measure.

We all know the script.

I wonder if he's been lined up longer than we think. Sounds like Johnson was on thin ice for a while and Dave Jones must have talked to Keane about the possibility of coming back if and when the job became available.

I know you're sceptical of itks as am I. But he posted it about 15 mins before it broke. He seems legit.

There’s a few who I trust I dunno I just don’t think it’s the most unthinkable thing to guess he will get sacked

Anyway we will find out this week anyway! Please god

If keane doesn’t take it he’s a fool like. He won’t get a better job.
I think that Roy Keane is an realistic and honest man. If he doesn't take the job (and I hope he does take it) it will be because he thinks it's the best thing for SAFC and the best for him. NOT because he's a fool.

Some of the negativity on here is way overboard mind. Maybe, some folk getting their told you so moments in, just in case he's not a success.
He'll take us up this season. Then worry about it in June.
