Jermain Defoe (no longer a rumour)

My stomach sank at that point.

One verbal misstep away from a PR disaster.
The linguistic semantic gymnastics surrounding the description of a non white person is a minefield in this social media world and i keep being overlooked when the updated memos are sent around about whats the right term to use......I thought it was ok to use the term black as long as its contextually appropriate and the tone is ok!Sadly im at an age that some changes appear arbitrary............its ok to say person of colour but not a coloured person both of which mean a non white person!Who actually decided this stuff?

Looks even better after it goes through the laundry.

No, his use of the term black I'm sure was/is fine.

I was more concerned that his motor mouth may have got the better of him while describing his identification difficulties.
