I think it would work, but it certainly doesn't fit with the philosophies and protocols of the clubs board.

Players would respect him, you'd think he'd be able to instill some metal into the lads and he'd not accept anything less than a 100%

Rose tinted glasses?....most definitely, but I do think we'd get the momentum needed to take us up.

I don't expect it to happen.

Well why not, apart from Sam A who had more success. Granted it was low league but he propelled the club to win the league from 23th in the league. We need a big lift, the players need a big lift, and we would get it with Keanno.
It was fifteen years ago and he’s not managed for twelve years. I liked Keane at the time but it’s time to let go ffs. Might as well get Reidy back if you want a successful former manager.

Game has moved beyond him very quickly I think. Unable to adapt to modern management, which is a shame because I love the bloke and he would motivate them well.

Would take him over McCarthy; who the guardian are saying is on the shortlist mind. Jesus Christ.

Thing is, Keane is still as relevant and is as big box office as he was when he walked thru the doors of the academy all that time ago. People still take notice when he says something and I've no doubt the younger lads would absolutely buzz off being managed by him, whilst the older lads would at least be able to respect what Keane has done in the game to take instruction.

Maybe something that could be looked at is the coaches who would come in alongside Keane, maybe that's where the fresh thinking could come from? Although I don't think much has changed in terms of playing league one football that Keane would be that much of a dinosaur....he's currently employed as a pundit to watch and keep up with the modern game.

I don't think he's a bad shout, probably better than most the names on the usual lists.
