Because LJ loves his 4-2-3-1 and won't change it unless he has absolutely no option. He also tends to get more useless as a manager, the more players he has available. His best runs are always when he's down to the bare bones and the team picks itself. Come the end of the season, there are no excuses because this squad is definitely good enough for promotion, but I have severe doubts about the manager.

To be fair, the vast majority of our best performances this season came playing that formation.

It's all well and good talking about how strong the squad is, but the reality is we've had so many injuries all season we've rarely been able to put our strongest side out with anything approaching consistency.

We may still even win this game with a reaction in the second half. But all the signs are there, as they were last season, that we haven’t enough to be consistently good enough to control games and win comfortably or convincingly. Sides that go up automatically tend do that.

We could easily be 3 or 4 down here. It’s not like we’ve done ok and been a bit hard done to and find ourselves down. It’s not good enough.

Shout out for one of the best Mams I know. It's @addicted_to_safc's birthday today. For those who don't know, she puts in one hell of a shift every day caring for her disabled daughter, as well as looking after her other children. If anyone deserves three points on her birthday, then it's her! Haway the lads.
@becs thank you so so much, you'll make me cry man, woman 😭. What a lovely thing for you to say ❤️❤️ xx

Now it would be very nice if they could pull their fingers out and get a win. Ha'way man lads.

Exactly. All well in good building a team of young, small skillful players, that can play well if teams don't get stuck in and the pitch is perfect....but the reality of a 46 game season in league one is very different.
Best get used to it.
The powers that be at SAFC aren't planning to deviate away from signing, young, small, skillful & weak as piss players, who'll flatter to deceive against smaller/weaker opposition, and will get steamrollered against big strong, and uncompromising teams.
