What do people make of it, Cork City and towards West Cork?

Thinking of a last minute trip, as Ireland has opened up without restrictions. Been to Cork before briefly and enjoyed it.

Was thinking of just Cork City then a few little towns like Clonakilty and Skibbereen that I can bus to.

Not looking for a life changing trip, just few BnBs, pubs, music and laughs.

Not driving, which is a shame in Ireland I know, so needs to be trip like that.

I did think about flying to Dublin and then on to Galway, then see the cliffs to aran islands.

Always worth an ask on SMB like.

I have mates live in Skibbereen and Skull, can't help with pubs etc. as I haven't been there and my mates are all old, married and boring now.

You'll love it Cork people are very friendly and welcoming.

There's a place called Youghal about 20km East of Cork on the coast road. A restaurant called Ahernes, one of the best I've been to. There's also a great pub there right on the water where they filmed some scenes from Moby Dick with Gregory Peck. I recommend a stop there, you'll be glad you did.

Very friendly bunch. Can't understand a word they say but they seem canny. On our taxi ride from the airport, not one of us understood anything apart from the regular mentions of Roy Keane.

Schull, Bantry, Kenmare and Killarney are all lovely. A bit further out mind.

Maybe have a look into doing the wild Atlantic way. Might be easier with a car as you say.

Also this!

A fantastic area to travel and take it easy, I would have though a self drive car would be essential for no other reason than you can please yourself as and when you move around.
The West Coast is truly magnificent, Cork is good for a couple of days indeed but it depends on how much time one has.
Dublin offers nothing more than what you'd expect in any other big city but wherever you go ................take a brolly
