I don’t know if he’d have done much but were we woeful? Not brilliant first half but I’d say average mostly and then quite good second half. Not a top performance but a fairly solid one.
We would have to because if Stewart was injured would defo be able to play 90 minutes ?

I’m fed up of these hacks peddling stories to sell papers / attract online readers. They get a sniff of someone’s opinion and then run with it. He's one of the all time leading scorers in the hardest league in the world. He keeps himself in immaculate condition and would easily be the best forward in the league.

His ability to play in this league shouldn’t be questioned. I’m sure if he signs his goals per minutes ratio will be very high. The question is him many minutes he’ll be able to play. He’s played 600 odd minutes in total since summer 2020. Does he have the physical capability to make the impact his technical ability would allow?

We could do with a couple of forwards in reality and I realise that could be complicated in terms of wages but neither Defoe or Broadhead could be construed as like for like replacements for Stewart.
What I’d hate to see is is being Defoe in and then Johnson leave him on the bench for a month saying he needs to understand the ‘philosophy’.
