It would leave us pretty short, but if we can shift him on for a decent fee I can see how it would be difficult to turn down. He is a League 1 standard player and hasn't progressed as we have hoped.
Agree entirely. From a business perspective I can see why they're considering shifting him. His value is at the highest point it's ever going to reach with us, we'd get less for him in the summer as the market is easier for buyers to work in. Reckon he'll be off like. Not denying that all mate. I thought he could have developed better than he has but he's obviously had injuries and what not. If we get a decent fee amd don't leave ourselves short then fair enough but I still think he can contribute this season and we review in the summer. He's nowhere near one of the first I'd be looking to move on.
There was. 1. Brief thoYeah There wasn’t any defoe chants/songs
Just the usual posters, the ones with bans and offering people out for fightsCan’t be true, I heard on here LJ hates him and would rather give AOB a 5 year deal than get Defoe.
Goochy can cover as can Dunne and Dyce get some sheckles in for a waste of spaceNot denying that all mate. Coincidence archer went to another club then Johnsons desperate for defoe now? Was told other day defoe hinged on a possible loan coming in.Back here tomorrow and Monday for talks/to sign.
It is what it is, still. If we sign him, cracking. If we don't, we move on and pray it doesn't come back to haunt us.
Really? Going off comments after the game it sounds close to meSounds like Hume to Pompey is nowhere near yet either. I'm pleased. He can still be an asset to the squad this season..
I was taking the piss….As a six month stop gap until we sign and rehab Broadhead (a kid who he signed and played) I’d be very happy with the poaching nature of Defoe not arsed about him doing 15km per game. If he signed he’d instantly be the one I’d want a chance to fall too above all other, even Stewart.
Clearly scared of Defoe taking his job iircYou must be logged on to see media items
Aye but how was his body language? You must be logged on to see media items
Fancy that. I really don’t want to be negative after an important win but this really has shown up a lot of people on here, for being the whinging fannies that they are. Far too many people making their minds up during the week without any knowledge of what’s going on.You must be logged on to see media items

Totally inaudible from the West Stand, unlike the chants of Lee Johnson's red and white army. There were definitely a few Defoe chants ringing out throughout the game, not many joined in like. (Including me, didn’t think it would help the team).
They were inaudible because it was only a few joining in. Most probably thought it wasn’t a chant our players needed to spur them on at the time.Totally inaudible from the West Stand, unlike the chants of Lee Johnson's red and white army.
