Is KLD just a farce?

Clough took both Forest and Derby down the division in his first season with them. It happens when you're rebuilding, laying foundations. It took both Wenger and Fergie years to turn two massive clubs around. Johnson not being as talented as either one of them it may take him a while longer.

It’s a nonsense comparison. Johnson has had nearly a decade long career without a promotion and has had regular bad runs everywhere he’s been. Neither Clough nor Ferguson had that at the beginning of their managerial careers. It was just a pointless reference to either of them from the poster in question.

On the pitch I think we are seeing progress and a more modern approach.

Of the pitch its a disgrace though, ticket office and club shop barely open and ran like blyth Spartans.

He was at Accrington’s fanzone pre-match, getting some ideas no doubt.

You kicked off with the Clough and Fergie crack yer silly little berk. Of course they had bad runs.

Haven't read the whole thread but he was there today. Saw him in the carpark in before KO and he was a lovely fella... photos with the kids, etc

I responded to someone else saying it was a daft comparison given the context of their careers. There was nee kicking off.

You’ve waded in and decided to start being all SMB like with your ‘silly little berk’ patter. I’m not convinced people would speak like that to others in the flesh like.

There’s nothing tinfoil hat brigade about knowing not much money is being invested behind the scenes. It’s also not tinfoil hat brigade when it won’t be disclosed about the ownership share.

The OP may be going OTT with language but it’s daft to pretend that everything is absolutely spiffing at the club.
Why do you need to know about ownership of the shares, what makes you think you have the right to know? It's none of your business, you have no shares in the club, it's a "Private company limited by shares", with the important word being private..

You’re technically right. But Sunderland AFC has existed for well over a century. Owners are only ever custodians. The club belongs to the community and the generations of supporters that dedicate their time, money and effort to year in, year out come rain, snow, wind, hail and very seldom sunshine. We have a right to know who the custodians are and how much control each of them have.

I’d question supporters arguing that it’s none of our business.

I wasn't being entirely serious, you were being rather silly taking his point the way you did mind. If you were genuinely offended I apologise unreservedly.

100% this.

I'm not interested in the shareholding, and we've been told KLD has control, and I believe that, and I'm happy with that. I don't ever remember anyone getting excited about who owns what shares in Sunderland, ever before, and I don't see why we should now. There is nothing we can do about it anyway, I learnt long ago that there is no point in getting agitated about something you have no control over.

Sounding more suspicious by the moment. Looks like Donald and co still hold the power. We need investment Wigan are going out and buying players. Yes we have gone youth policy and will take a few years to take off but we need to get out of this division. Go and get what the fans deserve, just need maybes 3 quality acquisition’s. Strong dominant defender, ball winning midfielder and forward. Can’t stand another season down in this league.
Jesus christ.

I don't think you really get better players by paying a fee at this level. All you get is a player under contract. You can't get a top end Championship player because you're willing to pay a fee. Those players will still want to play in the Championship. We can get loans or we can get Championship players that are surplus (Not that good).

We have to try to attract the best L1 level players. They are usually only on 1 or 2 year contracts so are usually free / cheap. Obviously we can think outside of the box and shop in other leagues, but as a rule, we are unlikely to attract someone to L1 who is better than that.

Spending big money on transfer fees is wasting money down here.

That’s your prerogative. I don’t understand it myself but if you’re content with that, fair enough.

Too right I’ve thought this for a long time and hear things to support it, there’s cut backs coming once again within but we’ll see in the next two weeks
If Stewart does go, everything will be clear !
