Novak Djokovic

Would you feel the same about him other than him not being vaccinated is what I asked.
Is it only his vaccination status that is your gripe with him, baring in mind had he been vaccinated there wouldn't have been any lies.

Did you even have an opinion on him prior, do you even like tennis, do you really care, is it just no jab that has brought about your anger towards him.
Read the thread, I've already covered all of that. My feelings towards Djokovic are negative, and his refusal to vaccinate - and the criminal activities and lies he's engaged in connected to that - contribute substantially to my feelings about him.

Was I a fan of him before, as a character? Not really. He's a superb tennis player, and I disliked him a lot less, but he still had poor conduct on court sometimes, still promoted various pseudoscientific beliefs. But he's absolutely shown himself up since Covid, and this latest scandal will damage his reputation permanently.

49 pages long, I'd rather go and get jabbed.

Scott Morrison is a nasty bastard, no way he was going to stand for Austrailia being humiliated globally. He was always going to use every leverage he has to see Djokovic deported. Its not even about covid now.
Barnaby Joyce the deputy OM is a bigger fucknut, he said a few days ago that he’d be kicked out. That was the catalyst for me, he was a dead man walking after that

Was hoping to get alocals take on it, I'm guessing the local serb population will be doing there own version of punching police horses and smashing phone boxes

Caught the virus over the New Year period, I should be ok for 6 months, well I think that's what the science says.
Roughly. You'd also have got that from a vaccine, and you'd got it more safely and responsibly. People who get greater symptoms are more likely to gain antibodies than those who asymptomatic. Antibody protection via covid infection last a few months longer than vaccine-induced, but is less effective.

Have you had access to a TV, radio or the internet for the past two years? There’s been a story or two knocking around about some virus thing or something.
Tbh I think having any travel restrictions at this stage for Covid is nonsense, it's everywhere, no point trying to stop it, isn't that why France have just re-opened to GB?

Covid as Chris Whitty said for the majority will be mild to moderate symptoms.
I'd say mine were probably just the other side of moderate.

I felt like the cancellation being only about "health and good order" was strange to omit his fraudulent declarations amd apparently obvious disqualifications to entry. On second thoughts I wonder if they've decided the minister's legal power to unilaterally eject him is watertight, and easier to defend than who made a declaration and whether he broke various conditions and how badly. Basically fewer loopholes this way.

Surely that is covered by a few medical tests and will be open to appeal.
He's still in the country and hasn't been quarantined either, it makes a mockery of it in my opinion.
Think great sports people should get preferential treatment because of the joy they bring...big tennis fan me :D
You'd think they'd get away with a backhander.

any jobs going at your place? I hear JVT is looking for a part time gig to supplement his wages now he’s dropped off the deputy CMO. I’m sure he’s as qualified at your job as you seem to think you are at his.

We’re all laughing at how the Aussies have handled this but imagine if this was in the UK?

We’d have only found out 12 months later he ‘donated’ £300k to the conservatives; after that leak you’d have Boris doing the news circuits mumbling some bollocks about “building better butter”; and you’d have Patel talking about how despite letting an overseas national break the law to enter the country, they’re actually the best party to police our borders because we’ve got gunboats aimed at migrants
Boris would just claim it was an accident. Bloke could dress up in Nazi uniform and claim he wasn't aware of what it was.

You can think what you want mate. If you think murder is fine go and stick an axe in your neighbours head. And tell the police that you think it's fine.

That's true, but the vaccinated majority are less likely to a) suffer symptoms from it, b) spread it to others that would suffer from it. The more vaccinated people you have, the greater herd immunity.

Just run with me on an analogy, it won't be a perfect analogy but the principles are the same.

Imagine I have some fire-resistant paint, that reduced the risk of trees catching fire by 70%. Say there was a forest fire and it started at one side and was spreading the other. On the side that it was spreading towards, I'd painted 15 rows of trees in the middle, effectively as block aid, to stop it spreading to the other side. Some of those trees that are painted will still burn, but a significant proportion of them won't. The fire eventually runs out of suitable hosts, and is far less likely get to the vulnerable trees on the other side.

It is never going to be a perfect analogue, but it shows the purpose.

Come on Muzza. Let's hope our glorious British tennis player can take advantage and win another slam.
Or useless scotch t**t if he loses.
