Novak Djokovic

It doesn't matter what you think about Australian Visa rules. Australia gets to dictate the criteria for does and doesn't legally enter their country. Everybody else has to meet that criteria. He was aware of the visa requirements, and lied to avoid them. He was also aware of the isolation rules for Covid in Serbia, and he violated the fvck out of them as well.

He doesn't get to do whatever the fvck he wants, and suffer no consequences of the actions he takes. He's all for personal freedom, when it benefits Novak.
Well at least the Australian government didn't have a garden party.
Got to applaud them for that.

Her choice, exactly the same choice that you had.

Not an answer but I'll take it as you wouldn't.
How is not an answer? That's like asking how I would feel about a drugged-up driver who passed out at the wheel knocked somebody over, and then lied about it. How would I feel about him if he'd never taken drugs? Well, that's a stupid question, because my feelings about the person are directly related to events that wouldn't have happened, if you remove the key element...

It's like asking how I would feel about Hitler, if he'd never become a Nazi.

I think Djokovic is a bellend but I find it deeply disturbing that the leader of a western democracy can unilaterally overrule the judiciary

I had 4-5 days holidays in 2 of the places. Maybe they've changed the rules but I don't see why it matters where you've been before coming to any country?
Have you had access to a TV, radio or the internet for the past two years? There’s been a story or two knocking around about some virus thing or something.

The judiciary was irrelevant to the reasons he's being deported. That court case related to technicalities of procedure by Border Force. Their failure to properly carry out the process, is irrelevant to his guilt of committing various other offences.

Would you feel the same about him other than him not being vaccinated is what I asked.
Is it only his vaccination status that is your gripe with him, baring in mind had he been vaccinated there wouldn't have been any lies.

Did you even have an opinion on him prior, do you even like tennis, do you really care, is it just no jab that has brought about your anger towards him.

Scott Morrison is a nasty bastard, no way he was going to stand for Austrailia being humiliated globally. He was always going to use every leverage he has to see Djokovic deported. Its not even about covid now.

We’re all laughing at how the Aussies have handled this but imagine if this was in the UK?

We’d have only found out 12 months later he ‘donated’ £300k to the conservatives; after that leak you’d have Boris doing the news circuits mumbling some bollocks about “building better butter”; and you’d have Patel talking about how despite letting an overseas national break the law to enter the country, they’re actually the best party to police our borders because we’ve got gunboats aimed at migrants
