Booking Disney Land

Florida, i have 2 young kids and theres jowhere better. Go at least once a year
Lucky bairns!

Enjoy mate
Yeah, it was a great price. Could have had full board at the Disneyland hotel for £1400 at the time too.
We usually stay in Kissimmi think that how it's spelt.

Don't do it yearly would love too but when do usually rent a villa as not too much of drive to the parks. It's not too bad cost wise when work it out pp either.

I priced up the Sequoia (sp?) lodge for 3 nights in March (I think it was) and that was £1300 for the 5 of us (2+3). Flights from Newcastle £800, then add transfers and food.

Its a lot of money for a 3 nighter really.
That's certainly gone up a lot. Is that with a meal plan?

We going soon two bairns 11 and 5 staying at Conrado springs, I’ve never been to be honest .I’m dreading it the thought of queueing up every day for hours in the blazing heat doesn’t appeal to me people get on my titts at the best of times

I don't think they are doing meal plans at present (not for new bookings), no magical express, no bands, early access is for everyone (not just people staying on site), no fast pass (genie something now, at extra cost). At least I have read this somewhere recently.

It's a canny resort, near Animal Kingdom. I haven't stayed there, but called in to have a look once. It sounds like they're charging extra for fast passes now which might make queuing worse than before, but I rarely queued at Disney.

Sounds shite, I don't think I'll be back in a while. It makes sense as demand is going to be high.

We’re looking to book for Summer 2024, hopefully the free dining will be back place. We absolutely hammered the character meets last time, so the main focus will be Universal as well as Star Wars as it was still under construction.

Anyone stayed at the Cabana Bay on Universal?

We're also thinking about booking a night or two at the Hard Rock to get the 3 days worth fast passes.........i'm guessing they'll be a godsend in July.

Hard Rock is spot on. Possibly the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Stayed at royal pacific on previous trips too, which was only a tenner a night cheaper than HR but much less luxurious.

Express passes will def be handy in July as US kids off school. I think they exclude some rides though. Couldn’t use them on Hagrid’s when I was last there (2019). Suspect you can’t use them on velocicoaster too

When we went in 2014, flights were £2500, accommodation was about £2500 and 14 day Disney/ Universal tickets were £2000 and car hire was about £600 plus I paid another £1000 for a day at Discovery Cove for the wife’s 40th. That was for 2 Adults and 2 Kids in June

We did one night (2 days) at the Royal Pacific as I had a discount from Hotels.com so only cost about £150 for the 4 of us.

We've got tickets for discovery cove along with the universal parks, sea world, aquatica and busch gardens....no plans atm to do any of the disney stuff.

Looking at potentially doing this in the summer. Covid permitting of course.

I know they have your eyes out but what is the best value way of doing this?

Would have to be summer holidays.

Is the one in Paris any good or is it worth going the whole hog and going Florida?

As if it wasn't already expensive enough...RIP bank balance

Star Wars Galaxy's edge was great. Especially Rise of the Resistance. Had to battle for slots first thing in the morning though.

Is the lake buena vista area as good as international drive for eating out etc?
A bit different as international drive you can walk the length of it and go to different places.
LBV is not really walkable area and you would just drive or get Uber to where you want to go.
Old Town is a bit closer to LBV and that's a walkable strip with loads of restaurants and other stuff, also host car shows over the weekend which are decent.

We stayed in 2 bed condo at LBV resort and spa in 2018 and really enjoyed it.
Short drive to Disney and resort pool was really good for kids. Also decent for us as pool bar stayed open late on a night so kids can keep swimming while we had a slurp.
I would go back to same resort if we could get a deal for it but prices seem to have gone up massively since we went (for reference we paid 2.1k in 2018 for 2 weeks there including flights with TUI which was a mental deal looking back)

Does anyone know what the deal is with kids and jabs at the moment? We're thinking of taking our 9 year old to the US, and looking at some of the theme parks they ask all over 5s to be jabbed, or you've got to do a test. No idea how we'd get those tests and I'm slightly worried we'll end up shelling out a fair wedge on tests for her.

Which parks.........pretty sure it isn't the case with universal?
