I think what I’ll do from now on is just enjoy what I enjoy for its own sake and not share my opinion with anyone else or bother to ask them. for theirs. I mean in life, not just on message boards.

Nah, don’t do that it’ll drop the entertainment factor, how shit would things be on here without people’s opinions.

I think it’s a good thing to watch a programme or film without reading reviews. I deliberately avoided Barry Norman when Silence of the Lbs came out. The reveal of Lecter at the end of the corridor is far better if you haven’t seen him in trailers or reviews.

It’s also good to post reviews after watching so people can compare and discuss id, of course, they wish to.

I thought After Life was superb. I laughed out loud several times and I admired the story and the parallels between Gervais’ character and the junkie.

It would appear this thread has been bumped. I’d forgotten I’d even posted anything on this of course as it was so long ago. But it would appear, as a third series has been commissioned and about to be aired, that I wasn’t the only one to think that it was well done and the critics were talking out of their arses.

I think it's brilliant writing. His character thinks his superpower is not caring about anything anymore but after various conflicts it's now book ended by the third series where he realises that caring is all that really matters.

I'm looking forward to it.
