Regarding Chris Woods, I'm just going to leave this here:

But can you imagine losing your new £25m striker so he can go and play in World Cup Qualifiers in New Zealand and Papa New Guinea in March?

He'll get a convenient injury which will clear up quickly

You're going to sign another striker are you?
Potentially....yes.
In what way? sure, 5 or 6 years ago but now?

What exactly about his domestic and international goal tally excites you?
His goal tally in the past is of no concern to me.
Rondon was similar and did the business for us.
I remember him being called like Woods is.

It doesn't matter at this time what people think he is. What counts is what he produces when/if he signs.
And for that we shall see whether he sinks or swims.

When you're in our position you have to weigh up the options.
We are weeing against the wind in almost every avenue, so we have to try and find a less windy avenue to suit.

I get that and I don't think he's going to be a bad signing but £25M for him when he is in the worst form of his career is a lot.

It is a lot but then again many clubs pay way over the odds for players who end up offering little return or who come with no guarantee, just as much as managing to get some that do offer value for that money.

If Woods wins us a few games by scoring a few goals then 25 million will be like dropping a penny from one arm bandit.
Fellani being linked now
He had great hair and if he still has it he would be able to keep magpies warm when allowing nesting.
It's not all bad.;)

However they’re spinning this, and whatever the outcome this season. The here and now is they were expecting much more than this. Much more

Howe, Trippier and Woods. I didn’t see them in any of their fake FIFA teams

Like I've said I don't think he'll be a bad signing but it is one out of pure desperation to get someone in for Saturday.
