So Eddies new tactic will be give the ball to Trippier who will be crossing to the prolific Wood to get them out of trouble🤷‍♂️

Hardly forward thinking tactics and more worrying since Trippier has zero assists this season and Wood has scored an impressive 3 goals in a system suited to him🥴

One thinks they haven’t thought this through too well

Scattergun. They'll probably stay up comfortably anyway so no doubt this will be lourded as a masterstroke

I think for 20m in this day and age he is a decent signing. He has a 1 in 3 record in the PL for Burnley. Yeah he is not the superstar they crave but I think he will be decent short term for them
He's scored 3 goals in 21 games this season! He's an average target man.

Awful signing for the so called richest club in the world 😂

Why are Burnley selling him? Seems a bit bizarre if they want to stay up imo
Had no choice. Dyche really needs to create a siege mentality amongst his remaining players regards Wood downing tools and f***ing off to a rival. Problem is they're shit, as are Norwich, Watford and the filth.

Very opposing views on the Burnley message board. On one hand, they are saying he has been a disgrace this season and 25m is a great price. They have got Cornet and Aaron Lennon playing up front instead of him, Aaron f***ing Lennon.

On the other hand, some of their fans are gutted. Essentially selling their best striker for a pittance in todays market, to a relegation rival. One thing with Wood is, he’s never injured and can score goals.

Personally, I think it’s a good signing for them. Proven premier league goal scorer, doesn’t get injured, big lump. Better than going out and spending 30m on an unproven French youngster that will take a lot of time to adapt to the league. Probably the type of signing they need at this point. Sadly.

Wow. You've literally signed two players for big wages and decent contracts who are 31 and 30. The very definition of mercenaries. They're not going to your club for the 52,000 screaming Geordies, just in case you hadn't realised.
If they do what they were bought for, I won't be complaining.
Aye, he'll score on his debut n'all most probably... 😂
A hat trick is my prediction. If we manage to sign him that is...obviously.

Reference your balls into the box now Burnley have knocked in a average of 2-3 more balls into the box per game than yourselves, and he has scored 3 goals, yes 3 goals this season, yous are very low on the balls into the box stat mind, but knowing how it always seems to work out for yous he will turn into prime tedy sheringham for a few weeks and bag a load of goals
The difference is, we didn't have a real target man. If we sign Wood, we will have and then we will see a lot more to him.

Regarding Chris Woods, I'm just going to leave this here:

But can you imagine losing your new £25m striker so he can go and play in World Cup Qualifiers in New Zealand and Papa New Guinea in March?
