Booking Disney Land

Just been quoted £8100 for 14 nights hotel, 14 day Disney pass, 4 day universal pass, flights from Glasgow, transfers etc.

How does that sound?

Seems a bit steep for Rosen but that could well be the fact it's August.
Can you not go a bit later? Weather more bearable in September and flights should be cheaper.

It was a fairly average looking hotel Rosen Inn. 2 adults 2 kids in August.
Just had a quick check and it's August flight prices that will be killing you.
You need to go 26th of August or later to bring the price down.

For example from Doncaster on 18th September could get Rosen for 3.2k then just need to add park tickets.
If you want to go for better hotel World Quest is 3.6k, Sonesta Es 4.2k or The Grove for 4.7k

We are bound by the kids holidays unfortunately.

Rosen doesn't look great to me either.

More like 2k for car hire at the moment it's through the roof

That’s what I’m asking, has it just changed and for school hols?

Just checked my booking and was £370 for large group W with budget. For 10 days. That’s on airport pickup/drop off too.

Assuming the daft prices are cos of it being august and school hols?

It’s been that way for the last year, I don’t know how you got the price you did.
I’m going end of April/early May and we are getting quoted about £1400 for 12 days. We have decided not to bother and just use Uber/Lyft.
it’s because all the hire companies sold off their cars during the early lockdown, and now they can’t get enough due to the global shortage of microchips.

I'm going 30th September as well with the lads on golf trip so we needed car hire.
Usual places were coming back at about £1200 for a 7 seater.
Eventually managed to get a deal through British based company called Discount Florida Car Hire for £400.

Only way to get it so cheap was to not pick up the car from airport but get it next day from Kissimmee. Actually works out better for us that way so we can have a drink on the way there.

We're going in June and paid £800 for a 7 seater with Tui. £370 sounds great at the minute

I went through BA, and it was allocated to Budget. Even outside of BA the prices were coming up as 400-500ish, maybe it was down to the time of the year or something.

Makes sense re the shortage, guess I got lucky. No way I’d be paying more than that,Uber/lyft would do it, then save $50 on preferred parking per day as well!

Aye off airport pickups can save, guess I just got lucky as meant didn’t need to go too far!

Mine was all last minute, can only assume they had some “spare” so prices were low at that time of year?

Orlando is mint like.
If you're near enough to the park, get there early, come back for lunch and a snooze, then go back. The car park is priced per day, and no kid is going to last all day on their feet in 28c and 90percent humidity. (Not many adults neither)

Hot in august mind, so take that into account!

Done that once... won't be doing it again will stick to October plus get the Halloween horror nights

Aye thats why prefer October.

It was crazy when I went in the summer.. you had those booths that put money in and cooled you down but they must made you worse as soon as you left dripping with sweat again.

Went for 17 days last time, 5 days the backend of October into November.

Got Halloween and Christmas.😎
Weather was perfect and wasn't too busy, although it was starting to pick into November.

Sounds class that mate I've even there on Halloween before but we went home the next day think it was.

October could be an option but would only be able to do 10 days, would that be enough time?
Aye. Just don't expect to do every park. Not that you need to really. If you go to the two universal parks, that's two days. Probably MGM (or might be called Hollywood studios now) and magic Kingdom for another two. Maybe a day at a water park. Then there'll be one of the parks you liked that much you want to go back. Don't plan on doing 3 days of parks in a row unless you can all walk 5 miles a day in heat with no bother.

When I last went, universal were miles ahead of Disney. They might have caught up by now.

The log flumes were good for mid day. Had dried off by the time we got on the next ride.
