A decent top flight manager gets a tune out of that defense as it stands. They lack cohesion and coordination but Howe does not have a great track record here so the defense will likely continue to struggle in any case.

The midfield is the big problem. They're desperately short on numbers and quality. Hendrick is barely even worthy of a mention and Fraser little better. Uncle Fester still thinks he's brilliant but is also bone idle. Almiron has pace but there's no end product. Longstiff, Willock and the others haven't done anything of note this season. They need an enforcer and a general which is likely too much for this window.

Wood up front will help them but they really could do with someone more prolific to stave off the relegation threat.

It's a good job Watford and Burnley are so poor cos that's what really saves them I reckon.
 
Might keep them up but will they fuck progress with signings like this. I don't even think Wood will help them do better than they did under Bruce.

Imagine the slating Bruce would have got for this signing man yet they cheer it like he's Mbappe
 
Take a look on Twitter. He will be a good stop gap! He’s 30 and the contract must be mega to move to a club as a stop gap.
 
I know Sunderland fans' default mode is shitting on a NUFC transfer, but I'm as baffled as anyone by this one. Seems utterly desperate.

It's like the limit to Howe's scope is players connected to teams he's been at, otherwise no one knows who the fuck he is.

Can someone screenshot all the mags saying he is great signing. Unfortunately they will stay up as Watford are gash and come September when they have him as a striking option they will be turning on him.

i read someone say he'll buy players from bournemouth and burley because he knows them. its 10 years since he left burnley and he'll not know any fucker there
