NUFC Sportswashing 2022

It's silly for Newcastle to splash out wads of cash on top players, as it stands.
We need as many loans as permissible and offload the dead wood or as much as we dare to, to open up spaces.

Then we need to buy in players like Trippier (we got lucky) for those prices or less to add that experience for the short term, whether we sink or swim in the prem this season.

Some Newcastle fans are getting above themselves by saying so and so isn't what we need. I've seen Solanke and Wood and players like that mentioned and I've seen the old chin rubbing as much as to say "hmmm, it's not what we'd like."

That's arrogance due to a money bags mindset.
We still have to be careful with FFP regardless of whether we can flout it like many have.

We can't afford to sling double the money at players just because we can and to get them over the line. You want heart and soul along with experience and talent, not mercenaries 5 minutes worth of badge kissing and saying the right words for the media and fans but offering half their ability and gusto.

If we buy outright we need:
A sturdy centre half willing to believe he can help the drop but also willing to right a wrong if it fails, rather than jump ship. On sensible wages.
A decent midfielder who can actually drive us forward.
A decent striker who has the old fashioned ability to score goals. Wood is closer to that.

That's the minimum we require.
We have players in that squad that can be elevated into position to finish off the assault on beating that drop.

If it doesn't work then we start from the championship and go for it, knowing we can add a few extras to set us up to get back.
If that works right away, the great....but.....

Then we start with a blank canvass, so to speak..

We have a stadium whether its begged stolen or borrowed. We play in it and that's all that counts.

Of course. There's no sugar coating it. I said what it was.
Have you got a director of football now who at least has a plan of who to purchase and why ?

They have more targets than a Clay Pigeon shooting range man!. PULL!........"Sorry boss he doesn't want to sign!"........PULL!......."They are injured boss!" .........PULL! ........."They signed a new 4 year contract last week boss!".........PULL!......."Sunderland said Dan Neil said Fuck off gaffer!" ........PULL! ............"It's too late Boss. It's February 3rd now man!"

True, but as you have commented before that doesn't help FFP.

Thanks to Fat Mike's careful stewardship, they have no real short term FFP problems. The only thing which might affect that is too high an amortisation charge going through the accounts. Longer term, it's likely to be a real constraint, as Everton are discovering.

Assuming it would be further damaging if relegated? not sure how parachute payements work. i did hear a whisper they were possibly losing them in the future.

Very damaging. Their income would drop by roughly £50m overnight. If their players don't have relegation clauses of around 35% pay cuts they could end up needing a fire sale of their higher paid players.

I said I'm not into bragging rights from history. What other people do is their affair as it is your affair.

In your opinion but you know it's not shared by all.

Yep and you may do so in time to come or may not...or we may or may not.
By all means brag about it if you want.

No.
We relegated ourselves.

Aye, you did.

Really?

Aye.

Great stuff and I hope you're proud of it. If it gives you a sense of purpose and bragging rights in your mind, who am I to spoil that.
To be totally fair to you, I hope your club gets back to the top. I sincerely hope you never beat us again or stay up at our expense....but apart from things like that, I hope both of our clubs smash that premier league wide open and fix us as top dogs in the league as elites rather than the usual suspects.

It's why your bragging rights are good banter rights just as ours are but I wish no ill will on your club nor fans, in any way shape or form.
Very generous of you. I hope you go bust and never recover you smelly bastards

@king of the road do you feel better now? Wtf did you think that would achieve. I average 0.3 posts a day pal, this place is no loss to me

Nice to know I’ve occupied so much of your day. Rent free eh
You want to go around accusing people of child abuse carry on. Makes you look a bit weird though. The type that used to accuse Boro fans of the same. Usually covering up some underlying issues.

Of course. I cannot argue that. You could very well beat us by a few goals in that set up....but...and think of this. It's still a derby game, cup or not. It's still a derby game, lower or higher league stance or not.
You could easily be butchered or simply beat.
The rivalry will always be there but league position in terms of where both clubs are will intensify it that bit more for your fans, whilst we may become silly and arrogant with most of our players not actually giving a flying eff about derbies, apart from the Dummett's and Longstaff's and what not.
:eek::eek: You really have taken your new owners under your wing

Bit like going around accusing many on here of being racist without any proof just because they don't have your view on things.

What are your underlying issues? Those past skeletons beginning to make you feel guilty in your old age?

You are comedy gold though, so kudos for that.

Completely agree. I am happy they are making a pigs ear of things as blowing millions on stop gaps and offering massive contracts will come back to bite them later on when they actually get their act together and know what they want.
